2 lovely Gardai arrived on the scene as I took this photo, worried since I was on a pier at 3am! I explained I was shooting photos and showed them my camera. One of them asked my name, I told her, and she told me she Loved my stuff & followed me on twitter - thanks to @BigBoyler !

My first aurora photos. Waited a long time for this. Basic edits as I’m a total newbie to this. Hightailed it to Skagsanden beach - It came and went in about 25 mins as we were drenched with incoming tides and gale force gusts knocking tripods over. What a night!

Yesterday on the #CopperCoast . Got up before dawn. Forgot the camera such was my haste to get down to Kilfarassy beach at first light. Hightailed it back to the B&B. Came back and it was like this for literally 5 minutes. Felt like a complete idiot but got the shot nevertheless.

Lough Gill under the Milky Way - I was pleasantly surprised that the light pollution was just enough to illuminate the foreground, despite this being just on the outskirts of Sligo town at Doorly Park. One of my favourite spots and oh so beautiful last night under the stars.

Straddling the #sligo #leitrim boundary is Ireland’s tallest waterfall the Devil’s Chimney, a YouTube misnomer. It’s local name is Sruth in Aghaidh an Aird, which translates as “Stream against the height” due to its phenomenon of blowing upwards when the south wind prevails.

@Todd_Spence I remember going to an art museum and I had the audio guide so I listened as I walked around & finally heard the story of Van Gogh’s final days while looking at his final work and cried my eyes out. It was one of the most powerful sad and beautiful moments I ever had.

Checking out a few more of yesterday evenings adventure on Coney Island. Curlews and foxes whizzed by as I tried to grapple with a sun that seemed to be accelerating towards the horizon as I scrambled across the rocky shore with tripod and long lens to get the angle! Fave?

Another of my 2022 fave photos. The Milky Way over Ladies Brae, Ox Mountains. This beauty spot is nestled in one of Irelands oldest mountain ranges. Unfortunately the light pollution (from Coolaney, I believe), made the sky detail less perfect than I would have liked.
