In Edinburgh, by 2pm yesterday, there had been “approximately 2,150 total short-term lets licence applications”. @Edinburgh_CC has long maintained that there are 12,000 #STLs in the capital. So just 18% have applied, or your 'data' is wildly wrong?

Current #STL legislation is clear. SNP staff have been asked to provide accommodation to other SNP staff for the purposes of carrying out work. Assuming that they will be on expenses, then Section 2(1)(b) and section 3(d) apply, as does Schedule 3(14).

That was merely a smoke screen and you know that perfectly well. The traditional self-catering sector has been a vital part of Scotlands accommodation portfolio for decades, generating close to £1bn per annum, employing 25k people.

In a letter from @scotgov to @Edinburgh_CC on 27th July 2022, it was made absolutely clear that the requirement for planning permission in a #STL Planning Control Area was not retrospective. I fail to understand how the Council has got it this wrong. #A1P1 . @SaveSCScotland

Competition laws are designed to promote fair competition, prevent market distortions, and protect consumers. If a local authority enacts policies that explicitly favour hotels / serviced apartments over STLs, could be viewed as discriminatory and anti-competitive.
