@Mistierain Hello, Mistie... 29-year veteran of the Corps here. Many of my best Marines were women, and mothers. Two have gone on to be squadron commanders like I was. I can assure you that our Corps has never been stronger, that diversity = strength, and that no enemy "owns" the Marines.

I take great offense to retired Generals making statements like this. I've seen the problem as a squadron commander & from the E-Ring of the Pentagon (DoN SAPR office) - I've personally experienced retaliation for trying to address the issues. It's systemic & starts at the top.

@mattgaetz He also probably shouldn't have run away from a crisis, blamed his kids, lied, failed to quarantine after international travel (both ways) been photographed without a mask on a plane, spoken publicly without a mask during a period he should have been quarantined, but here we are.

Every year on Christmas Eve in Holland, children gather to light candles on the graves of Canadian soldiers who never returned home. COVID-19 stopped them from gathering this year, but it didn’t stop the lights. It didn’t stop remembrance. They still see you. We still see you.

True story. My grandmother died in a botched home abortion during the Great Depression. The family could not afford to feed another child. She bled to death in my grandfather's arms; he was never the same after. The intergenerational trauma affected my father & his children.
