@Laura38460211 He literally snaps out AFTER he does what Sephiroth wants him to do in both cases. He pushes Tifa into the mako pool, he wakes up after he realizes what he did. He gets the black materia from Aerith, gives it to Sephiroth, wakes up. In Tifa's case he almost kissed her after.

@Criten90 There are not two stories, an Aerith fan sees two stories. The player is not allowed to choose, if that was the case you would have the option to kiss Aerith or Tifa at their respective dates. If there was no affinity system you would be stuck with Tifa. Go play The Witcher 3.

@crescent_tifa I just saw a video of a youtuber "Aerith and Cloud in love for 23 minutes" and he had any possible scene you can imagine as love towards Aerith, he even cut the scene at Nibelheim water tower at half, removing the part where he rejects sitting next to her. They are the plague.

@Ryui7104 The last scene is an attempt to deceive the audience without context which firstly is a scene in a DREAM, not reality, a Zack's world related cutscene. And secondly during this scene she is called nakama and just initiates and hug him while he does nothing.
