The problem is that Cloud doesn't fall in love with Aerith. It didn't happen in OG, it doesn't happen in Remake, and it's not going to happen in Rebirth, despite the red herring trailer. The problem is that cleriths keep telling this lie. Aerith is important as the last Cetra.

Why is it an issue that Cloud fell in love with Aerith? It does nothing to harm the existing relationship Cloud has with Tifa. This is the trigger of all arguments, it's that people shave down Aerith's importance to Cloud to the point that she becomes unimportant.

You know what's funny? That CTs dislike Cloud when the narrative suggests he loves 2 girls. I never saw the same treatment towards Cloud from CAs. It's either means CAs are just a better fandom, or that Cloud's love for Tifa is not threatening at all, unlike his love for Aerith.

Yeah, Cloud TOTALLY decided to just let Yazoo shoot him. Has nothing to do with him relaxing his guard, thinking it was over, and not detecting there were two super soldiers standing a roof length away BEHIND HIM. His anger and subsequent battle charge were feigned, too.

Maybe they think clotis and Tifa fans are guaranteed customers. But the trailer has killed a lot of enthusiasm. SE deliberately stirred up the most ignorant and obnoxious part of the fandom, and aimed them at those who actually understand the game and buy the merch. 10/10

I agree that Cloud is wrong for abandoning his responsibilities, and it's THAT which means Tifa's anger and outburst will ALWAYS and FOREVER be appropriate. I'm a Cloud fan first and foremost, but anyone who wants to be mad at Tifa for that scene is wrong. Period. 1/9
