3. Driver was traveling very slowly. He had stopped at the stop sign, maybe also saw me / heard me shouting at last sec and hit brakes. Result: He made a mistake, but it didn't kill me or ruin my life or his. Slowing down saves lives. It saved my life.

@wmata PS Kid is 9 with a good head on his shoulders, plenty of practice runs and a tracking/texting watch. Walked 0.5 miles at 4pm w/ many other kids & parents heading same way. If your answer is "You let your kid WALK ON HIS FEET? ALONE?" we're probably not gonna see eye to eye here

He was blocking traffic, refusing to move, cursing at me, calling me trash, and saying that Jews are the devil. If my tone of voice is your central concern... @mba_thug @DCPoliceDept Indeed! But sidewalk is also legal (except in central business district) and in some spots it's the only safe choice. Better bike infrastructure makes life easier for everyone - bikers drivers and walkers. Where it's missing, all we can do is keep our kids safe best we can.

@XGrammar_Police @TizzyEnt I'm in a large cargo trike, not on foot. The only way to go around would be to bike into oncoming traffic. Not comfortable doing that - especially with my kid. And if I got hit by a car, people like you would say "Why wasn't she in the bike lane?"

15 min walk home from dentist. Stopped @ neighborhood store for milk - crossing guard is dad of 2 but still calls me Ms. A. bc I taught him in 7th gr one million years ago... It's not just the emissions y'all. This is a better way to live than how I grew up (driving everywhere)

Idk whose project but executed w/ total disregard for safety of riders on #BranchTrail all week. Today less than 3' gap left open & total disinterest in helping to direct traffic. Several near crashes - someone is gonna get hurt @DDOTDC @LaneSquattersDC @311DCgov #bikedc

Tfw you're enjoying a lovely #PBL on your way to another lovely #PBL and suddenly the t intersection dumps you directly into a 40mph stroad w no bikeway of any kind Good thing there is a tiny sign that says "bike route" tho!! 🤣 #bikedc

@FeverPotomac @DCPoliceDept I agree this is best for everybody when it works. But in some places I have no safe alternative - at those times I'll take the sidewalk, go superslow and yield to pedestrians - which is legal. SPEEDING bikes on the sidewalk are a different issue.

Huge thank you to Chris Berg & Mike Goodno @DDOTDC for plowing Ft Totten #MBT segment!! Thank you for caring about those on foot, scooter, stroller & #bikedc Unfortunately 2 days of packed snow & ice hard to remove fully - still treacherous going but the effort is appreciated
