So I hate CVTs however, my godfather is still on the original CVT in his Maxima with close to 400,000kms on it and I asked him how. His response? I just serviced the transmission when it said to. Maybe they’re not totally ass???
One of those Top Gear Challenges except they have to drive the top 5 most beautiful driving roads in the world and they can only buy FWD GMs made between 1980-1995.
If they break down they get a 1982 Camaro with an Iron Duke.
Boomer rant incoming.
This TV is a year and a bit old and it already has a burned out panel so now it’s being scrapped. They just don’t make shit as well as they used to.
For some reason everyone outside of Weird Car Twitter is fully oblivious to the Nissan NX. Like, the world forgot it was ever a thing. I even had one like a decade ago.
Not me messaging this dude like “Hey man why do you have an Avro CF100 Canuck in your yard and what do you want for it? Does it have the original Orenda engines???”
@LeviBetz
Me right now as I ride my 40 year old air cooled 4cyl bike in a 40 degree Celsius heatwave lol.
Needed an excuse to stop at the beach on the way home anyways.
I figured with the death of the Micra in Canada they'd kill off the Micra Cup, but what I did not know was they just replaced it with the Sentra Cup that you can buy for $39k out the door.
@SpeedSportLife
It’s Porsche owners in general.
I’ve looked at my 944 and been like “No, I am uncomfortable with how assembled this is. This will not do” and just started taking the interior apart.
I was looking at Porsche 911 prices and I’m starting to think that back in 2009 I shoulda taken my boss up on that offer to buy a 1982 911 SC Targa off him for $8k.
But NO. 18 year old me had to have the 944. Idiot.
I'm so annoyed with putting gas in my truck that I have an appointment at a Nissan dealer on Friday to ask the question "How long until you can get me one of these obscurely optioned chariots?"
I have learned about the Orenda Canada OE600 8.1L V8 aircraft engine and every other V8 is dead to me now.
Fun fact: This engine traces its development back to Formula 1 and the Chev Gen II big block. Also the same Orenda that built the Orenda PS.13 from the Avro Arrow.
I’m at a funeral reception (it’s at a bar) for my family friend that passed away the other week. Since I’ve been here half the reception has asked me about my 944. In turn, I’ve learned that every owner that car has had since new is currently in this bar.
I can’t sell that thing
Quick question for Weird Car Twitter. Was the Saab 9000 a crap car? Particularly the 3.0L V6 one. It's the Saab that no one ever brings up or mentions.
@BenjiRx7
Someone stole the car then ended up in a high speed chase. Unlike in the movie though they never made it to the car wash where the identical Mach 1 was waiting lol
This is the perfect pit bike because you can put around the pits all day with ease since it’s a clutch less manual. But it’s an 80cc 2-Stroke so you can also get a few beers in you and wheelie it into a wall. But it’s a Yamaha so you can still ride it away after.
Convair is the greatest aircraft manufacturer that has ever existed because literally everything they did was batshit insane and I don’t think they ever turned a profit.
Except the CV-240 & 440 but those don’t count.
people saying you cant get a decent car for under $10k are absolutely cooked. these fuckin things are the glue that are holding the entire american economy together
I’m gonna sell the Sunbird shortly in case anyone was interested. I just don’t have the time to do anything with it and I’ve committed to putting the 944 back on the road as something to boot to Midland and back with during the summer.
@xodarapreturns
I agree, they kinda suck. But I don't think they're as unreliable as we're made to believe if you just maintain them.
Also I know a few people who have new Corolla Hatches with CVTs and they claim they're totally fine.
I still would rather a 10spd auto that'll blow up.
The town did this to me literally immediately after I took the plates off a Ford Focus so I just put one of those car tents over it, which pissed them off even more lol.
On Nov. 10, 1975, The SS Edmund Fitzgerald, an iron ore carrier on the Great Lakes, sank suddenly in Lake Superior during a storm, killing all 29 men aboard. The tragic event inspired Gordon Lightfoot to write the song "The Wreck of The Edmund Fitzgerald."
Petition for
@alanisnking
to come to the Toronto Indy to see which drivers she can get to go to Medieval Times after the race (there’s one literally on the track).
