No, I honestly don't think spacex has really struggled too much with starship. They basically invented the first fully and rapidly reusable SHLV for ~$5 billion. That level of capital efficiency in development is just mindboggling. They're killing it with starship rn.

@ThePrimalDino This tweet is so disingenuous, omg. Also, lmao, the part about no one else making something similar to starship is just so wrong. Stoke space, the Chinese launch academy, relativity space, and maybe blue origin in the long term are developing analogs to starship.

Starship has 6 potential launch contracts outside of Artemis, Falcon Heavy has only flown 9 times. The bubble will burst for SpaceX at some point. Where are the payloads?

CNBC’s story on Starship’s launch operations in South Texas is factually inaccurate. Starship’s water-cooled flame deflector system is critical equipment for SpaceX’s launch operations. It ensures flight safety and protects the launch site and surrounding area. Also known as

Imagine comparing the program costs of a dinosaur like the SLS to a real 21st vehicle like Starship. How fucking delusional do you have to be? SLS uses decades old technology and will hundreds of times more expensive per flight than starship.

@KenKirtland17 I love how the "dedicated launch price" section doesn't even have real figures. They don't put real figures because it would show their expendable smallsat launcher as being more expensive(per kg) than the F9. Wait, so astra was just lying to investors the entire time? WTAF?

God, this is such a horrible take. If that were true, then we'd have a vehicle like that, but it's not. Starship is the way to go because it's fully and rapidly reusable while using methalox. That gives it the lowest cost/Kilo to the surface of Mars possible.

Starship HLS will have to refuel between 10 and 14 times in LEO just to do a TLI burn. Any Mars Transit Vehicle will be modularly built in orbit. Starship/SH may (will) play a role in building such a vehicle, but it won't be going to Mars itself. Too much wasted mass.

I didn't know he was genuinely this evil. He probably thinks that we were giving the slaves a service by enslaving them in america instead of leaving them in Africa. He is not only intellectually disabled but deeply morally corrupt. Holy moly.

@Robotbeat This made me spit my drink out. Wow, spacex is building a whole economy in LEO and testing advanced technologies for the same cost as a useless lunar orbiting space station. There really is no justification for the Lunar Gateway at this point. Robert Zubrin was right.

@LDegrinis @peterrhague Calling everyday astronaut "just a space enthusiast" is incredibly ignorant. That guy has an amazing knowledge of rocket engines and has made videos where he describes engineering perfectly and in a digestible matter. No, that isn't an example of that scenario.
