@Clinnick1 The HST's are not fitted with large vibrating underfloor engines under the passenger accomodation which means DfT will not be in favour of their continued use. They show newer trains up and that cannot be allowed.......

@Clinnick1 @northernassist @GWRHelp There is a ground signal which is fixed at red by the Fairwater Road overbridge. It’s officially a Limit of Shunt signal but in reality it is a Limit of Spend signal. Only units rendered surplus from other TOCs are allowed to be sent West of it…😉

🚛💥 Bridges being hit by vehicles is a real issue and today at Dawlish Warren it happened again. ⛔️ We have had to close the line until the vehicle is removed and the bridge can be inspected, causing delays to passengers. 👉🏻 More on bridge strikes

@TodaysRailways @driverbod125 @GWRHelp The Diesel engine-alternator sets under each drive end trailer feed a rectified 750v DC output into the cables used to send current from the shoe gear to the traction equipment on the Motor Standard coach. Additional return current cabling required for that.

@networkrail The faces should be shown. Name and shame the little sods. One of the costs of railways is mitigating the issues these little sods raise. No sympathy for them. They won’t make much of a dent in a class 80x train. Wouldn’t mind seeing the FFCCTV version of that. 125 mph line speed

Secretly I know which one I prefer but I don't think we'd get very far trying to Therm GWR's Night Riviera with a 37/4

@pipdunn @ScotRail As taught in 1992 when I learnt 158 you have to give the engine stop button a short prod to allow the aircon to pump itself down. You only held it down if there was an issue which required the engine stopped right away. Spurious ‘full stops’ damaged the aircon.

@Clinnick1 Driver sustained a back injury through trying to leave the seat rapidly, some cuts due to debris flying around but otherwise unhurt. Having seen pictures of the inside of the cab he was very lucky....

@pipdunn @ScotRail If the master key is removed from the desk the engines will stop 15 minutes after the desk is closed. That maybe suggests to me the unit has been left running for a reason, start battery or starter motor issues maybe? Easy to rant before asking the questions obviously..

@johnredwood Biggest problem with that is likely to be that the food we like, particularly fruit doesn’t grow that well in the UK climate and the cost of energy these days precludes large scale heated greenhouses etc.
