There is something about old church sanctuaries that I love. Our church plant will launch this fall and was gifted a church building from a church that closed after 140 years of being a congregation. This is the 120 year old sanctuary.

Social media has shown me that a lot of people have never actually spoken to a sexual abuse survivor or someone who has been closely affected by it. As a counselor I cringe at the things said to survivors on social media with no realization of the trauma being caused

Last week my family was on @NAMB_SBC prayer calendar. Since we have received hundreds of letters and emails from churches, pastors and church members in 18 different states encouraging us and praying for us. This is what makes the SBC great.

@NickVipperman I sat with the remaining 10 members most in their 70s and asked them to tell me stories. They told stories from when they were kids sitting in the balcony when it was packed. To the ministries they did how they served the community. They were all faithful believers.

@freedomsbride If you contact your congressman’s office his staff can actually help you get any medals he may have, plus army records. It can take a few months but all you need is some proof he is your granddad and a few forms filled out. Super easy

Our one week old, Shepherd, temp dropped low tonight and since he had some abnormal blood work from when he was born we were told to take him as quickly as possible to Children’s in Pittsburgh. Will you pray for the little guy and my wife Emily as she’s with him? Appreciate it!

Thankful for the Doctors and nurses @ChildrensPgh who are taking great care of our week old son Shepherd. Hope to have some answers soon to what’s going on but thankful he’s here. For now he hangs out under lights and gets more blood work and tests run. Thankful for the prayers!

Found out this morning a close friend passed away unexpectedly. He was one of the best guys I knew. Loved the Lord, loved being a Student Pastor. So many people came to know Christ because of his witness. He’s worshipping at the throne of Christ now. What a sight that must be!

@freedomsbride All it should say is. “If you’re a pastor and someone says they’re being abused, 1) believe them 2) call 911” that’s all the article should say. As a counselor I’ve talked to more people who were given bad guidance by their friends and pastors who didn’t know what they were doing
