My stillborn girls (29 and 36 weeks) did not get a birth or death certificate. I did not get to claim them on taxes. Their funerals were out of pocket expenses. I chose at 8 weeks to carry them as long as I could. No one knows of their existence without me telling their stories.

I watched Kate Cox weep on national TV and say that she is a grieving mother and that no choice she makes gives her a healthy baby girl. She is choosing death or death. Texas thinks they won, but there are no winners. The baby dies regardless and the mother weeps.

As said below, it’s more expensive to birth a dead baby than it is one alive. I was lucky. Someone from our local cemetery also lost a baby and ran discounts for a section of the cemetery specifically for babies. Discounts on tiny white caskets and tiny holes in the ground.

I’m 39. I grew up in the pro life evangelical movement (I interned at a CPC at my secular college). I learned in ultrasound school that most birth control methods are not actually abortifacients (stop fertilized eggs from implanting). Many stop ovulation or fertilization.

Jessa Duggar had a missed miscarriage and then a D&C to get the retained products out of her uterus. She did not have an abortion. The procedure is the EXACT SAME as one used in abortion-the difference is the presence of a heartbeat. Hope that helps.

Several years ago, I didn’t believe a friend when she told me the SBC mishandled issues of sexual abuse. She was insistent I reevaluate my place. I thought I could stay and change the culture. Then I started to follow abuse survivors on Twitter. I started listening.

11/ I’ve watched women choose termination for very wanted pregnancies or felt trapped and had a baby when they were completely unqualified. We don’t need more regulations. Leave it be. Let’s support these women instead. Black women die 3x more than white women in pregnancy.

6/ The proposed Ohio bill is even worse. It uses experimental and dangerous medicine that I have never heard of. He says that ectopics will be placed back into the uterus. This is impossible. Ectopics are life threatening for the woman.

@ShannonDingle posted this on insta today and it is just SO TRUE. Silence is the worst fear of a griever. You start to fear your loved one is forgotten. Also I need @BreneBrown to teach this to the world. We need more empathy. More awkward. Less silence and avoidance.

When I saw my pastor at Trump’s White House with other influential, yet questionable pastors..I started questioning. Then the sexual abuse report came out. I ended up leaving in 2021 and will never return to a SBC church.
