Literally the characters in Ultimate X-Men consists of the outsiders of Japanese society and the current villain is explicitly motivated by the suicide of his friend who was a victim of bullying and Japanese society’s really shitty way of handling that.

@krembeni I think it kind of shows just how traumatized he is. He’s got clear trust issues with other adults and people in power, but he gets along and understands children because, honestly, he never really grew up. Not healthily at least. It’s why he connects better with kids.

As much as I rag on Penders even I agree that Sega of Japan were kinda bastards in this case. They wanted Archie Comics to adapt the first Adventure game… but wouldn’t provide a copy of the game or at least the roughly translated script or synopsis. What the hell.

This reveal of Mecha Sally still bother some people to this day since it was never resolved. It did start a story arc I really like a to date, but the send off for Pre-SGW Sally is sad due to the story having no conclusion sorted.
