Science Minister Michelle Donelan has been able to use £15,000 of taxpayers' money to pay legal costs and damages relating to libel action against her. This is scandalous. That money could have funded 5,928 free school meals or 357 GP appointments. She should pay it back.

@fascinatorfun Obviously, nothing saves lives perpetually. We all die at some time. So 'postponing' death is all any health policy and safety measure can ever hope to do. We might as well stop giving people operations for an inflamed appendix as it only postpones death.

@spaceangel1964 Totally agree. Stockpiling of #looroll - probably hysteria; good personal hygiene, frequent #handwashing , and catching your cough and sneeze in a clean hankie or your sleeve - sensible precautions and, quite frankly, what we should be doing anyway.

@LaylaMoran I couldn't agree more. UK universities were among the most successful in Europe in accessing Horizon funding and its absence will leave UK research significantly worse off. The Tory government's hard Brexit is hurting universities (but I'm not sure they care).

Last year Greg Smith, MP for Buckingham and now Cons candidate for #MidBuckinghamshire , voted for 15 more years of sewage dumping. Now we learn that last year was the worst for sewage dumping. Thames Water and Anglian Water both among the worst offenders. This cannot go on!
