Matt Hancock was a lying incompetent prick but at least he wasn’t this kind of lying culture war prick.
“Cower” is such a charged term.
Fuck. Right. Off.

opened in 1990. They sold me comics but more importantly made recommendations for wider reading.
Almost 30 years later and here I am, it’s in no small part due to them.
Support your local comic shop, it could change your life.
Morning
@chilternrailway
your train is leaking. Almost every other window seat along the right hand side (direction of travel) of 0711 HDM. (Carriage 58655)
Finished reading
@LucyGoBag
’s book ‘When the dust settles’. So many things I hadn’t considered before delivered with a warm, (slightly world weary) reassuring hug. Absolutely fascinating window into a world we never hope to encounter but statistically will at some point.
Great to be back using your service after a short hiatus
@chilternrailway
- sitting on the train floor outside a toilet and still almost ten minutes until departure with people piling on. All for a premium price.
Happy 125th Birthday to you.
@chilternrailway
“Welcome to the Chiltern clubman” a name which implies luxury, elegance, competence but ends up meaning paying for standing up (again)
@chilternrailway
Don’t tell me, “all available carriages being used”?
Thanks for another dangerously overcrowded service
@chilternrailway
(1837 snow hill from MYB) - I really can’t believe you get away charging for this level of service day in day out, it’s utterly disgraceful.
Holy sh*t. The Post Office applied a senior executive bonus metric about its work on the Post Office Inquiry (without informing the inquiry). Then it used false information to say it had achieved the metric and awarded the executive bonuses, whilst implying...
Hello
@chilternrailway
you have to do something about overcrowding. 1747 MYB departure (you know which one - people tell you EVERY day). Response will be:
- All carriages in use
- will feedback to relevant team
- Timetable update in December
- sorry it doesn’t feel safe
@scottmann4NC
@trussliz
what has your party has been doing for 12 years to level up rural communities? it seems all you’ve done is cut services, cut the duchy off from EU funding and its major export market for fishing and farming.
Did I miss anything?
Ah yes, you’ve levelled up sewage I guess.
Happy to see that we have a

is actually working of course....)
Currently sitting in a luggage rack on a
@chilternrailway
commuter train, one of the lucky ones today. Can anyone explain what has happened to see such a fast & dramatic drop in service standards across the rail network please? Genuinely want to understand more about it.
Just find it absolutely baffling that a train, at 0630 in the morning is so busy that’s its standing room only / passengers sitting on the floor
@chilternrailway
- how are you getting this all so wrong? What happened to your rolling stock? Where did it go?
My ‘seat’ this morning
@chilternrailway
kind of your guard to suggest using the following train that is 15 minutes later & 20 minutes longer or moving along the train towards the rear (which clearly isn’t possible. We know ‘Because carriages’
Casually watching Second Ep of Cornwall with

@cornishgrill
(Well done mate looking good!)
Proud we held this up for a bit, (about 10 metres from the right hand side , towards the back of the green, kinda near a flagpole, next to some other people doing the same thing, you can probably see us if you look closely.....)
And a ‘good morning’ to you too
@chilternrailway
from our short formed train. Feels like really great value for money when paying the same as someone who is seated comfortably for the 40 minutes from HDM -> MYB.
Morning
@chilternrailway
- another day in paradise on your terrible service. This is apparently what ‘many seats’ looks like. 0752 from HDM -> MYB.
Realise it’s not you on the social team but platitudes about a couple of carriages here and there in December is not the answer.
Right, so here we go then. Day 4 of

Just the 40 minutes standing this morning
@chilternrailway
👍
Maybe tomorrow I’ll be able to have a seat on an on time train. I’ll keep you posted.
(Yes, I know, “all available carriages….”)
Train from Lucca -> Florence, seat on the upper deck for an hour and a half journey in rush hour this morning: €8.10.
@chilternrailway
MYB -> HDM 35 minute journey in rush hour, £23.60 & MASSIVE overcrowding with no seats available. Complaint about to be filed. (Again)
Holiday let and second home owners have commandeered £71m (or 40%) of the grants handed out by Cornwall Council to support businesses through the pandemic. £42m of the £71m has gone outside Cornwall. Surely this should not be part of the 'new' normal.
Sitting in a luggage rack
@chilternrailway
as the train seats were full 15 mins before departure. Anyone would think you didn’t have enough rolling stock or something. Really looking forward to the timetable change 👍*
I’ve been shamed repeatedly by the government of our country over the last 14 years. Today is a new low. Horrible, morally bankrupt populism from a weak government. The most scary thing is I think they’ve got more to go before we can bin them.
Hi
@chilternrailway
1747 out of MYB.
The usual overcrowding.
Just keeping it on your radar.
You did in a thread yesterday telling someone you got rid of rolling stock during the pandemic.
Any plans to rectify that? Anything we can read to give us some hope?
God, I’m glad that’s all over.
What?
That was just to preserve the least shit option currently on the table....
You’re kidding.
Great.
*something about heading to The Winchester and waiting until it all blows over*
that
@chilternrailway
takes more of a proportion of my money than is in any way reasonable for the service they deliver. It's not even reasonable if the service was good.
Dear
@Twitter
your constant app notification to turn on notifications now makes me ignore notifications.
I suspect this was not the result you were looking for.
How difficult can this be
@LNRailway
? Two
@NetworkRailEUS
trains cancelled the third running 5mins late and will undoubtedly be ‘full & standing’. It’s something practically everyday, you’re affecting people’s livelihoods.
#watfordjunction
I’m really worried the country is going into this election without the full facts. Relevant information is being deliberately held back by government to support those in power.
@chilternrailway
Glad that we’ve moved on from platitudes about ‘we don’t have enough rolling stock - sorry’ to full on ‘sorry, train capacity not our problem if you choose to use our service, deal with it’
