Another reason why law school is a legit scam. If going to a graduate level program for three years is not enough to prepare one to practice, why are we continuing to pretend it has this intrinsic value? Also isn't the bar exam supposed to demonstrate minimum competence?

Someone was telling me about their first mistake as a solo practitioner/first year lawyer and it was exactly the kind of mistake a partner would’ve pointed out immediately. The client suffered for it. Everything worked out in the end but there are real consequences to winging it.

Craziest thing about doing family law and having lots of clients protected with orders of protection is the multifarious ways that people will try to violate them. Case in point: Contacting protected parties through chat features in video games.
