Congrats to
@BobGreenburg
on being named the Jim Kelly Unsung hero in District 10 by D9and10Sports ... This man ... if you know what he does for Mercer County Athletics no words are needed -
Interesting nugget, the Bishop Canevin girls basketball team that beat DCC tonight did not have one girl listed in the book that played on the volleyball team that lost to Clarion in the PIAA semifinals in November. It really makes you wonder how a "1A" school can do that
History in New Bethlehem. Bryson Bain AND Chris Marshall both join the 1000-point club on the same night. It is believed to be the 1st time in D9 history 2 teammates reached 1000 in the same game. Has to be rare in history of basketball
Official didn't like fact he was waved at so he chased a Redbank player across the floor. If the players and coaches and fans need to practice sportsmanship so do the officials
Keystone believed to be state record 79 first half points ... tied for 9th most in history of US HS FB ... Keystone 79 Sheffield 0. Keystone asked for running clock in 1st half & was denied. Took some knees, etc. Not running score up
You like high school sports. So do we. How much? Since the start of the winter season we have broadcast 52 basketball games & 6 wrestling matches and covered 44 different hoops teams & 6 different wrestling squads repping 34 different schools. We have you covered!
They all act like Hershey is on the other side of the state. It's 95 miles. 1 hour 35 minutes. We have teams in our districts who routinely travel an hour plus for conference/region games. Warren anyone? Coudy went 135 miles for a 1st round D9 game. Kennedy to Armstrong was 74!
Dear PIAA,
Can we just move the Roman/Wood 6A Final to the Palestra? Nobody wants to drive to Hershey with gas at $4.50 and you would sell 10,000 tickets for the game...No Cap
Otto-Eldred becomes the third District 9 team to end a Bishop Canevin season in the PIAA tournament this year. Clarion volleyball and Redbank Valley football did so in the semifinals. Lady Terrors do it in the 2nd round
New Post: Double Gold for Prementine as Slippery Rock Boys Finish Second in PIAA Track/Field 2A Team Standings Powered by Janney Montgomery Scott in Clarion
Congrats to Ed Farrell long-time sports editor at
@SharonHeraldPa
on his retirement. One of the truly good guys and the last of the great-dressed spirts writers.
What a travesty that in the Olympic games the softball field is just a modified baseball field mound and all. Come on
@Tokyo2020
take it seriously. Heindl Field in Dubois is better. It's 2021. Women's sports is a real thing.
The vast majority of Catholic School kids were always Catholic School kids from the time they started school. Zero issues with those kids being at Catholic HS (where else should they be?). Many Catholic HS run own feeder system & develope players same way public schools do. 2/2
What a request. Hey our kids were "unintentionally" racist your kids should be punished at your home game The amount of hoops you have to jump through to come to this is amazing. Kudos to D10 for telling them no.
Ridgway holds the ball nearly the entire overtime and misses, ECC's Will Wortman drives the length of the court to win it at the buzzer! ECC 31, Ridgway 29/OT. Video coming shortly
