God everything about this election is weird. A four-way pileup between three senior citizens and a random mayor, to face an unpopular President elected in a bizarre fluke who is also the incumbent in a good economy.

Always love how "Doctor Strange" is ostensibly about an arrogant man learning humility but the actual text is a narcissistic surgeon finding another thing he's great at.

But for their own purposes, I think Anakin should have been a stronger parallel to Luke from the start. Don't Luke's aunt and uncle muse/worry that he's acting like his father in ANH. I don't know what the hell that's supposed to refer to by now.

Aging is a depressingly wide range. I think most older people in public life are probably "super-agers" by some standards, kind of by definition, yes even that person and that person, probably.

Question, even if Congressional Democrats were to pass a federal "Roe" law, uh, what are the odds that itself would survive the Supreme Court?

IMO while the US has a lot of problems, the politics make a lot more sense if you presume/understand that things are going "well enough for enough people" that there's a powerful source of status quo bias and resistance about change.

Look, I used to be poor. When you're poor, like actually poor, it seems unbelievable that anybody actually makes an upper-middle-class salary, but a lot of our discourse is in denial about the fact that ~34% of American households (40 million households) earn $100k per year.

Like make Anakin a random farmboy teenager dreaming of the academy etc, like Luke, but unlike Luke he actually goes, he has a movie where he has normal heroic stuff, learns he has the Force. That's Ep. 1. Seems natural to me.

If Anakin isn't a little kid anymore, he doesn't necessarily have to be a child slave with a virgin birth, two other weird choices.

With respect to everyone saying "the problem is Bernie Sanders might win his states by narrow margins while Joe Biden will win his states by big margins"...you do realize this is just an overcomplication of "the problem is Joe Biden is going to get more votes" right.
