The significance of Takaba vs Kenjaku, a JJK thread #jjk #kenjaku #takaba I don't usually make analysis threads but the pervasive confusion about Kenjaku's end has prompted me to try my hand. This is my interpretation of what Gege was going for with Takaba vs Kenjaku.

@Blehbleh289875 Ngl I have a different interpretation of this scene. I think they had serious faces on not because of the body takeover plan but because they were shocked by seeing how serious Gojo himself looked. It’s why when Yuji broke Gojo’s “locked in” face, the others also joined him.

@KaiyoBreeze I haven’t read the leaks but people are missing the point. Each character has a certain aspect that clashes with Sukuna’s and so far all of them have failed to overcome the abyss that Sukuna represents.

Unfortunately for Kenjaku he had betrayed his reason for living by finding something outside the merger to be fun. Just like how Gojo died the moment he stopped being the strongest, Kenjaku died the moment his idea of needing the merger to be entertained was debunked by Takaba.

His fight with Takaba immediately shows his hypocrisy and one of the many flaws within his mindset. He is getting what he wants ("chaos beyond his control") but he immediately tries to reject it and tries to assert control over Takaba instead of embracing it.

Kenjaku straight up admits the reason he lost and died to Yuta was because he was having so much fun with Takaba that he didn't want their little session to be interrupted. It might even be the first time Kenjaku actually had fun in like a thousand years.

@SHINGEKIYAIBA These three panels together do an amazing job of showing why Higuruma becomes disillusioned with his job and the “ugliness of the weak”. His client goes from thanking him for believing in him to turning on him the moment he fails to win the trial despite all his hard work in

However, after Takaba listens to Kenjaku's personal motivation for doing the merger, he makes the most unusual and interesting response: would he give up on the merger if he found something more interesting? It is the first time someone has such an unique reaction to his answer.

@gurokenn I think it honestly depends on how Megumi is freed from Sukuna. If it involves a conversation between Yuji and Megumi’s soul to pull him out off the abyss, I think he’ll emerge redeemed. If he’s simply yanked out, it’d be bad because Sukuna defiled his soul and Megumi will

Thinking about it a bit more granularly, I think the reason Kenjaku was so bored was due to his lack of human connections. Tengen used to be his friend but not anymore, Sukuna is a transcendental being, and others are but mere tools. The only person he might've seen as an equal+

@animefan6989 I’m curious about his thought process. Here’s how I imagine it went: “She looks strong. Let’s see what her deal is”. <Yorozu yaps about love and loneliness> “Eh, how dare she assume I feel lonely and need her to alleviate it. I’ve humored her enough. Dismantle!”

This is because Takaba felt that he can reach Kenjaku and form a connection with him through comedy after seeing Kenjaku's knowledge about entertainment media. Beyond saving the world, Takaba also has a self-centred reason for wanting to do so: to alleviate his own loneliness.

After Kenjaku is able to shatter Takaba's confidence, Takaba reflects inwards and realizes that he took up comedy as a way to communicate and connect with others. This leads him to reaffirm his goal to reach Kenjaku with his comedy.

Kenjaku is an incredibly bored person and to him the only way he can alleviate this boredom and satisfy his curiosity is creating chaos beyond control and that can only be accomplished through the merger leading him to start killing CG players so he can start the process.
