If you are a Megumi hater, someone who thinks Gojo's death was a asspull, someone who thinks Gojo is coming back, someone who thinks Sukuna is a bad villain, someone who thinks Yuta should be the main character, someone who thinks Maki is Toji 2 0 do not interact with me.
for a series so keen on exploring the themes of body and soul and autonomy, to end with the "good guys" doing the same thing as kenjaku, our second big bad, is major whiplash.
Starting with his soul punches and his ability to touch and perceive the soul, Yuji can see the difference between Megumi and Sukuna. His ability to touch the soul is the direct opposite of Gojo, whose cursed technique literally places an infinite distance between himself and the
-rest of the world. Yuji having a soul-based ability is also parallel to Mahito. This was foreshadowed by Yuji's and Mahito's respective statements where they acknowledged each other as a mirror of themselves.
I believe that represents Yuji's relationship with his brothers; he has accepted them as his brothers and allows them to support him, but he hasn't fully grown accustomed to his newfound relationship with them. Keep in mind, Yuji was raised as an only child for the last 15 year
Moving on to blood manipulation: To gain this cursed technique, Yuji had to eat his cursed womb: death painting brothers, which is obviously a parallel to Sukuna, who ate his own twin brother in their womb. Yuji eating his brothers also showcases his willingness and resolve to
Kill Sukuna. On the other hand, Yuji's use of blood manipulation is sloppy and unrefined because of his inability to use convergence adequately, so he relies on his eldest brother Choso's support.
As for cleave and dismantle, as everyone knows, this technique belongs to Sukuna, who uses it carelessly and destructively. Paradoxically, Yuji uses a modern interpretation of cleave and dismantle. Unlike Sukuna, Yuji uses it carefully, with a lot of thought, because he doesn't
Last but definitely not the least, Yuji unlocked the ability to use the reversed cursed technique during the time skip. He can now heal from his injuries, reconstruct his body, and regrow his limbs. Isn't this what Yuji has been doing this entire time?"
All this talk about abandoning your humanity is getting me thinking, isn't embracing the ugliest version of yourself a part of being human too? Are these characters truly letting go of their humanity? Or are they getting closer to themselves?
The fact that there are some people in this fandom that genuinely believe that megumi's role in the story is over and that, he's not coming back is hilarious.
Gojo's death didn't disturb me nearly as much as 212. I went to 236 knowing full well that Gojo wasn't going to make it out alive. Chapter 212 on the other hand, came out nowhere. Watching things go so wrong for my favourite character at the same time was devastating.
I remember feeling genuinely queasy whenever I first saw this panel. I don't think even Gojo's death had me as devastated as I was when I first saw this shit. I actually hated Sukuna for so long afterwards lmao.
@HugintheCrow
This fight ended with yuji completely ignoring the moral dilemma. He literally said that it doesn't matter if mahito is right or wrong, that he would kill him anyway. This completely deconstructed the notion of morality playing a role in the story
in the exhibition, Gege acknowledged that not expanding more about Tsumiki and her character is a huge failure on his part.
and JJK not being a MC-centric like other shounens thus the series being alright despite the MC being totally absent during a past arc is JJK’s weakness.
Alright, let's start with the basics. Before you go on to talk about how Yuji, as a main character, doesn't represent the story and its themes well enough. What are the main themes of jjk?
It’s just funny Gege admitted he failed one of the core story telling principles that the MC is suppose to represent your story and themes but he’s called a peak writer cause “ breaking molds”
Back when Takaba vs Kenjaku was airing, my tl was filled with people saying shit like "who give af about Takaba" ect. Right now, my tl is filled with people calling Takaba their goat and I love to see it. It has aged well, I'm glad to see that folk have understood the vision.
Three generational chapters in a row. There's no one else doing it like Gege right now. Jujutsu kaisen is fucking peak. I'm so happy to be reading this weakly.
ALL JJK HATERS ARE GOING TO HELL. HOW DARE THESE MOTHERFUCKERS MESS WITH MY HUSBAND'S MENTAL HEALTH LIKE THAT? I HAVE MORE FAITH IN HIM HHAN HE DOES IN HIMSELF.
When you rewatch and actually pay attention to the story and the implications behind it, you would realise that jjk has always been dark. It was simply presenting itself in a lighthearted manner, which reflects Yuji's perspective on the world.
Listen here you stupid bitch, not sharing the same takes on a fucking fictional story doesn't make someone a snake. You would know this if your brain developed more than a child's. Clearly your one didn't so i suggest you leave my mutual alone and get a fucking life.
I think it's incredibly rude for people to constantly argue about gege's choice of colours in his coloured pages, when you know that he is partially colour blind. Like seriously show some respect
🕯️
Q:
WOULD YOU GIVE A COMMENT ON THE COVER OF VOLUME26?
GEGE A:
YOU KNOW,I REALLY WANTED TO DRAW A PORTER FOR SATORU IN HONOR OF HIS DEATH (A PORTRAIT OF THE DECEASED), I REALLY LIKED THAT IDEA.
Volume 26 is literally what stood at his grave as his picture 😭.
