Just did a simple calculation. A Kuki & Meitei employee starting out @ 6 LPA salary at age 25 will have a whopping ₹2 crores difference in Bank Savings at retirement based only on Income tax exemption. Meaning a Kuki will always end up richer more than 1.8 times than a Meitei.

People failed to realise the tax implications of ST status. Saving 20% of ur salary per annum for 30-35 yrs leads to whopping 600-1000% salary saved. Multiply that by simple 7% FD in banks, an ST is richer by 4200-7000% or 42-72 times more at retirement. N people cry about Vengs!

Kwatha is a hill Meitei village in Tengnoupal dist. of Manipur. It was settled long back as an outpost at the frontier. When required, Meiteis settled in Hills. Period. It’s the post 1950 Indian constitution that has imposed apartheid on Meiteis i.r.o settlement in hills.

This is the traditional dragon boat of Manipur. It was used in ancient days for war across the Loktak lake and later in ritualised racing. The front of the boat has carved Dragon head and the end has a human head.

The majority Mizo with the help of Mizoram govt was able to successfully drive out minority Hindu Brus from Mizoram before the central govt got any wiser. The Brus were weak, unarmed and had no help from others. Hence it was a success for the Mizoram govt. Displaced: 35000.

When Manipur’s election after the British left happened in 1948 (pre-merger) there were 18 elected representatives from the hills. Contrary to pseudo-historians preach now, they joined the govt under the condition that Manipur will not be divided or merged to another State.
