I'm trying to find the words. DCI Mason was found guilty of 8 counts of gross misconduct for sexually harassing me but kept his job.
I'm disappointed with Justice Swift's decision today that the disciplinary process was 'both reasonable and appropriate'.
DCI James Mason sexually harassed me after I was mugged. 10 years later I found the strength to report him but despite being found guilty of 8 counts of gross misconduct, he kept his high-profile job in the Met Police with no change in rank, pension, or other benefits.
16 year old Brianna Ghey was stabbed to death in a "targeted attack". Supporting anti-LGBTQ public rhetoric is literal murder.
Her attacker has not been found. Police wish to speak to anyone in Culcheth Linear Park between 1-4pm yesterday

I woke up and used voice notes to record what I was sure was the greatest melodic idea I'd ever had. Listened back in the morning. It was 'Royals' by Lorde.
Dad said not to cry when he was gone but to remember the laughter. This pic was the moment I caught him just as he was about to pour himself a double shot of wood floor cleaner. “Glad you spotted that,” he said, “I'd have killed myself… At least I'd have had a nice finish!”
I did not say this.
Speaking out about police violence can be extremely traumatic and it doesn’t help when journalists treat you in bad faith and make up words for the sake of a clickbait headline.
@HannahAlOthman
@thetimes
what is your excuse for this?
This week I chose to waive anonymity and speak out about my experience and my decision to seek a judicial review. Despite my apprehension, the response has been positive.
I want to encourage more women to come forward about their negative experiences with the police. It’s difficult and takes courage, I know, but if enough women speak out, we can effect real change.
The Met needs a serious institutional and cultural reform as well as a commissioner that is not beholden to the government. The entire notion of policing needs to change. It’s not a position of power, it’s a position of service.
Now is more important than ever to hold the Met police to account for their crimes. Cressida Dick’s departure does not solve the institutional misogyny, racism, and discrimination.
@Hemmch
This is an important conversation & it’s important that men are involved in it. But I’m finding it hard to hear these points from someone who sexually harassed me & then tried to gaslight me. Are you ready to have an honest conversation about that yet?
The police force as it exists instead attracts, nurtures, and empowers people hungry for authority and freedom to act as they wish without consequence. It is rotten to the core.
If you wish to speak with someone about your rights and legal advice concerning a negative experience you've had with the Met Police, you can use this email address: clientcare

A glimpse of Dad at his happiest. On the couch, sharing laughs and a song, with a glass of bourbon close by. Doesn't get much better than that. I really don't have anything of my Dad's but how blessed am I to have all these wonderful moments that pop up unexpectedly, now & again.
Wayne Couzens wasn't "hiding in plain sight", he is exactly the sort of the person who makes up the Met police. The police is a breeding ground for abusers.
I thought very carefully about my responses to the 6 questions from
@thetimes
. This is what I sent to them, if anyone has the time to read it you’ll see the words "women are flocking to me" appear nowhere.
@Hemmch
I woke up and came across these tweets, I followed you (very happy to see a man speaking on this subject) and bookmarked them to return and watch the videos later. When I did, I realised that we already know each other, I just hadn’t recognised you.
The article also says that I call for police "reform", a word that does not appear once in my answers. I did not call for reform, I said that we need to

If you want women to speak out, please do not misrepresent them like this. I’m unsure if it’s the journalist or subeditors who fabricated this "quote" for a clickbait headline but it misrepresents me and
@thetimes
needs to answer for this.

Please can someone create an app where we rate landlords? Like Trip Advisor or Air BnB but for landlords. As tenants we have to go through such rigorous and invasive vetting and yet they can do whatever the hell they want with almost always zero consequence.
@husseybyname
If he had gone any harder at any point he would’ve been banished or murdered because they were all entirely blinded by Harry. It became clear at the end that Jaz played the game perfectly and if he had been in the final with any other cast member than Mollie, he would have won.
@Hemmch
We first met at university. Then, around 3 years ago, I bumped into you at a party. You told me you were working on a book about ‘toxic masculinity’. You then sexually harassed me and I left the party.
Also journalists, when you're asking women to speak out about police trauma, please send them the article when it goes live (even better before) so they don't have to pay to read the thing whilst shaking with nerves.
@Hemmch
Thanks for your DM Chris. It seems like you are ready to talk about this in the right way, but it might be better for both of us and the broader conversation if we keep it in the open.

The Cass report discarded over 100 scientific studies studies to reach the outcome they wanted. That sums up gender critical ideology perfectly, if science doesn’t back you up - simply ignore it. Shame on you.
BREAKING: Have now been leaked details about the Cass review that make it clear that anti trans activists who were put in charge of systematic reviews by Cass were allowed to disregard all but one piece of research on trans healthcare.
This is not shocking. This is by design.
Police officers in high ranks reach these positions specifically because they have benefitted from and contributed to systemic misogyny.
'Male police officers accused of domestic abuse were promoted into positions tackling rape and violence against women, rather than being punished, according to a new report.'
@Hemmch
I messaged you explaining how the experience had affected me. You tried to gaslight me. (I have receipts). This is a really important moment and a really important topic.
Have to say, as a queer woman, this headline is even more wild. “I spoke out against Met Harassment and now women are flocking to me”, like OK huns where you all at then
@johnyelizar
I tried to stop my medication (misguidedly) cold turkey once, I thought I was going to die. Although you may have good intentions, your message is dangerous.
I remember this night. We were at a "celeb" party. Dad wasn't feeling too hot so the two of us just sat in a corner all night giggling.
'Make sure you get my Sainsbury's statement socks in. She got me these for Christmas last year. This is my daughter by the way, not my wife.'

One of those journalists recently interviewed me about my experience of police abuse and when I confronted them for sticking a horrible clickbait (not to mentioned completely fabricated quote) headline at the top of it, their response was, “I’m away at a spa for my birthday”.

I went to a KJK rally to drown out their hate with an annoying instrument. This woman saw me banging away on the vibraphone, came over & pushed her v.young children right up close to me. She got out her phone, started filming & shouting,“why are you abusing my autistic children”.

It’s also very telling that none were ripped away or tackled to the ground by police like the women who were attending the peaceful vigil of a murdered young woman. I hate this place
@metpoliceuk
You received *proof* that DCI Mason committed 8 counts of gross misconduct against me but chose to allow him to carry on regardless. Where is this level of concern for the safety of women?
I’m not sure why all the reports have run with Mason’s “amazingly hot” quote. I guess him threatening me (“coming onto victims is positively encouraged it’s all part of the friendly face of the Met police. It’s your rejection that is frowned upon”) is less catchy for a headline.
Police-perpetrated abuse and the misogyny within the entire justice system needs to end now. These are the institutions that claim to protect us. But they are failing. Though this process has been frustrating, I want to encourage women to keep speaking out (if they feel able to).
@SholaMos1
Thank you for sharing. The replies to this only further demonstrate the level of transphobia that’s been stirred up by media, politicians, academics and “celebrities” against trans people. Blood on all their hands.
Thank you to the other women who came forward and supported my claim. The more we come forward and share our own experiences, the less they'll be able to dismiss us. We intend to appeal Justice Swift's decision.

A message that was spoken into the mic last night:
To any trans person who is feeling alone and isolated right now, wherever you are, know that every single person here tonight loves you.
Will you start with the Commissioner’s Staff Officer DCI Mason who was found guilty of 8 counts of gross misconduct for sexually harassing me when I was mugged and got nothing but a written warning?
The reports being reviewed have all been finalised in the past and we expect the majority were dealt with properly.
But we know we’ve missed opportunities and not been rigorous enough before so it is important we review the actions we’ve taken.

My dad has thousands of copies of his autobiography in his garage. Every Christmas I get a signed copy. A SIGNED COPY OF HIS AUTOBIOGRAPHY.
@CarterForNow
Please please rehome him through your local cat rescue organisation. Although most people that come forward will be wonderful, I’ve heard of people who don’t have the best intentions offering to rehome cats and then using them for dog fighting bait or worse. Sorry to be a downer.

Thank you so much for speaking out, especially on a platform like this! We should note also that the word "woke" originates from African-American Vernacular English - "stay woke", coined in the 1940s, meaning to be alert to social injustices, particularly racial injustices.
who needs stuff anyway, I hear his voice a lot. Sometimes giving me advice but most of the time just in my ear just cracking gags. Anyway, moment of vulnerability on Twitter. To the Sun reporter that just followed, don't you go making something out of nothing pal. Night folks x
I spent two days in the High Court taking legal action against the Met police for normalising and enabling misogyny.
I have so much I want to say about this experience and this journey from start to end, but for now we await the decision of Mr Justice Swift.

*Please* consider retracting the advice about accutane. This potent drug gave me suicidal ideation. It has taken the lives of hundreds through suicide over the last ten years and caused thousands to attempt suicide. Advising it as a first response to acne is irresponsible.
@LivEchonews
Sorry this reporting is so fucking rough in so many ways. Firstly, why is it implied that some sort of medical decision is "made for her"? Secondly, the pairing of the footage of her on the red carpet whilst describing "two people needed to give him a wash" is so careless/callous
@Nadine_Writes
Devastating. I simply cannot begin to imagine what his family has been going through these past few months. Unbearable. I hope they can finally begin to grieve now.

The last thing Police need is more power. My abuser DCI James Mason was a high ranking Counter Terrorism officer. He used his resources to rank potential female recruits using an unofficial score system based on their appearances, only hiring the ones he wanted to have sex with.
"There are a lot of men who are a threat to women and children."
Metropolitan Police Commissioner Sir Mark Rowley says in order to effectively tackle violence against women and girls - the police requires the same resources used to deal with terrorism and organised crime.
I feel gaslit by this entire process.
I unexpectedly spent another day at the High Court today because the Met Police Commissioner failed to disclose the existence of other grim allegations against DCI Mason. They let me think I was the only one.

“Victim blaming can be defined as someone saying, implying, or treating a person who has experienced harmful or abusive behaviour like it was a result of something they did or said, instead of placing the responsibility where it belongs: on the person who harmed them.”
@David_Challen
This is terrifying.
At the same age I experienced those same things, in the same order. Not at school but by a boyfriend who was 23. It escalated into much worse abuse over a year. I wish someone would have taught me how to protect myself, or even just how to tell someone.
@mikecmorgan
David Stansbury raped a mother three times because he is a police officer. The police attracts violent men, emboldens them and gives them the tools to enact their violence with impunity, and then protects them after they have harmed women.
@MichaelConroy68
If you see a female is being 'talked at' by an unknown male, ask her if she's alright. I was on a bus home from work the other night and had a man quizzing me the whole journey despite me having my eyes closed and saying I was tired. Three men near to us and none called him out.
