Would I really be rotating on the inpatient neurology service if I didn’t have a fanny bag to hold my reflex hammer, pen lights, tuning forks, and ophthalmoscope 🧠🤣

Spent the weekend in Columbus for the Ohio Osteopathic Symposium, presented some research, caught up with some familiar faces. Thank you
@OhioDOs
for the experience!!

To the doc who told me to not worry about seeing patients this morning and to go get some study hours in before a long afternoon of didactics, I am grateful and I needed that today 🥹☺️
Hi
#medtwitter
, I’ve been hiding to study for my boards, but so excited to say that I took Level 2 last weekend and Step 2 yesterday 🎉🎉
Saying goodbye to dedicated and hellooo to my next rotation!
I’m officially registered for Level 2/Step 2…time is FLYING by, feels like I was an OMS-1 not too long ago.
So excited for these next challenges in my med school career 🎉🎉
Introduced myself to the nurse today as the med student working on the pulmonary service and he said “I can tell, you look exhausted.”
And now I’m sitting here wondering if I actually do look as tired as I feel 😅
My cardio attending gifted me my first pair of EKG calipers, so now I definitely look like I know what I’m doing when I’m handed an EKG but tbh I’m still struggling 😅
My first ACOS-MSS conference was such a blast! Met so many inspiring students, residents, and DOs.
If you’re a med student interested in surgery, I highly recommend. Wish I would’ve started going to these events as an OMS-I. Thank you

No better way to start the day than when your attending tells you good job after presenting a very complex patient on rounds 🥹☺️

Lots of excitement this past week!
Found out my abstract was accepted for poster presentation for my very first
@ACOS_MSS
conference! ✅
Submitted my first audition application this morning for my dream program! ✅
Time flies when you’re having fun 🤩

I start my last rotation of third year on Monday!!
Better yet, I am ending third year the exact same way I started it…with a general surgery rotation! 🥳
I’m sorry…FOUR THOUSAND DOLLARS ($4,000.00) for an audition rotation?!
On top of your $150.00 processing fee and the $15.00 VSLO application fee?!
Just because I’m a DO student?!
Do better, University of Colorado. This is unacceptable.
@AOAforDOs
got one for ya 😒😡
Had to let my attending know that it’s my pups first birthday just to see if that would warrant sending me home early to celebrate…it indeed did not 😂 Teddy had to wait until after my shift to eat her cake
Fell asleep on the couch last night while doing anki cards…nervous to open up anki this morning to see how many cards I got done 😬
There is a lesson to be learned with trying to study on the couch wrapped up in a cozy blanket with no lights on…
Faced two wins this past rotation: I honored on my shelf exam and I didn’t catch any sickness from my patients!!

If anyone wants to know how I got through peds without catching a cold — two mini oranges with my coffee every morning 🤣
It’s never a dull moment when working with peds patients…today I was told by a patient that I look like I’m getting old and should probably get some more sleep — they pretty much summed up what being a med student feels like 🤣
Third year med students: we have to apply to residency THIS YEAR.
I don’t know about everyone else, but that alone makes 2024 pretty scary😅🤢

Spent the day organizing/updating my documents for audition applications and ERAS…feeling lots of excitement and of course lots of stress for this next step in my med school career 😅
I’ll take any advice/words of wisdom you all have

It’s so refreshing to take time to teach and interact with other students! Met so many future surgeons this evening teaching a surgical knot tying clinic to OMS1/2s 🥹🥹

Got out of clinic an hour early and was pumped to squeeze in extra study time…however, my puppy had different plans and decided to completely shred a fake plant, the culprit is pictured below!
Spent my extra time cleaning up the mess and taking her walking

New on here so no better time than to introduce myself! I’m Taylor, a third year medical student looking to connect with others. Hoping to find my place in

and learn from the countless other students, residents, and physicians using this platform!!

Congrats!! I am taking my family med shelf exam on Friday and I swear over half the UWorld family med questions have been about rashes, so I am feeling the rash burnout as well 😂
Been getting the ultimate rest and relaxation in Grand Cayman this week! Going to be so hard to jump back into studying in the cold and snow after getting these views…
