It is popular to diss on colleges and reservations, because it is easy.
A lot of folks around me in the industry make top dollars without having come from an IIT, BITs etc!
A lot of people approach asking for advice on how to switch.
Remember, once you are in the industry, you're not only being judged for your DSA skills. Companies would like to know if you were invested in the projects you did.
If you've been on the bench, build something in OSS.
Such is the state of affairs these days, even if a kid gets Rs. 500 from their aunts and grandparents after a visit, they’re expected to “invest”, “optimise” and “maximise” returns.

BTW, here is a scam I recently came across:
Someone buys a phone on Flipkart, pays 70% and agrees to pay the remaining 30% after 11 months.
They then signup on Amazon as a seller and sell it to unsuspecting customers for the full amount.
They pocket the 30% as a margin.

So cut yourself some slack and focus on your own priorities, not many others will.
Fixing a bug in the development stage is like squashing a tiny spider - it's quick, easy, and relatively painless. But if that same bug makes it into the final product, it's like trying to catch a giant tarantula with a pair of chopsticks - messy, time-consuming, and expensive.

If you run a free/paid cohort in tech, feel free to DM me, I want to talk to the top 5 students you’d like to recommend to be hired. Like, you’d vouch for them wala recommend.
Doing this in a personal capacity, folks I end up talking to and shortlisting, will be directly
Over the past few years, I've been interacting with a lot of students and developers virtually.
A lot of them asked for guidance/mentorship.
A month after launching a cohort trying to help them, here is what I found:
This realization comes much later to most.
This does not mean that those who are not from Tier-1 will not be successful. They can definitely stay consistent, build their skills and establish a strong portfolio.
This also does not also mean all Tier-1 folks are magically going
Hard to swallow pill - bashing Tier 1 colleges isn't gonna change your reality. You gotta compensate for the hard work they did between the age 15-18 to receive equal opportunities if not more.

Let others wait for someone else to do it.
Let others judge.

Please don’t hide incompetence behind “Imposter Syndrome”.
In no way I’m saying Imposter Syndrome isn’t real. In fact it is something many folks deal with. But I’ve seen a lot of early in career professionals use it as an excuse to overlook opportunities to learn.
You can hustle, crib, pull all-nighters, build, break, fix, learn, go on a sabbatical or rest and vest.
Just always think about the consequences.

The industry owes you NOTHING.
If you are seeking a job, you need to bring something to the table. If your skills are at the same level that a new graduate brings in (which is a lot), companies would prefer hiring a fresh grad, no?

You gotta do something others aren’t, to rise above them. If everyone js doing DSA or AI/ML, how are you ahead?
The difference is while most start, only a few are consistent. And THAT is the silver lining. ⛅️

🏆 Successful people often have a different mindset and are willing to go the extra mile.
They understand the importance of taking responsibility for their actions and decisions. By doing so, they gain control over their lives and are more likely to achieve their goals.

It takes effort to eliminate a victim mindset,

Instead, step up to identify variables in your control, take small steps, measure results, tweak strategies and eventually prosper.
