this is such an underrated deranged moment cuz wdym she publicly asked him if he preferred his ex wife or the costar everyone thinks he's been fucking for decades
txf pilot so good cuz it perfectly encapsulates the themes of the whole show. Other pilots i kinda cringe at when i show them to people like "i swear this isn't representative of the entire show; it gets better" but txf pilot is exactly what the rest of the show is
this is prob one of my fave little moments in the whole show - the way she's so taken off guard she has to repeat it to herself, the way she visibly retreats into work mode but it's so half-hearted, the way he contemplates calling her dana & does a little decisive head nod
if i could swap bodies with anyone throughout history i would swap w this hairstylist so i could witness gillian anderson tell david duchovny he looks like a dog
thinking about "agent scully is already in love" & like can you imagine some freak just abruptly pulls back the curtain of the delicate dance you & your partner have silently agreed not to talk about for 6 yrs?? she should've shot him right there
to me dd and ga are like bugs that i keep in a terrarium and study because their toxic leo-ism fascinates me but i maintain my scientific detachment and form no parasocial connections
i think mulder and scully enjoy playing with legos together. like their go-to date night plans are putting together one of those really big sets like the death star or smth while eating chinese takeout and watching jurassic park.
Obsessed w how Gillian played this. Maybe the most unhinged/manic/feral Scully moment to me. It's so different than any other time she's gone thru a traumatic event, & the difference is believable because of the William factor + everything that lead up to it.
yknow it's not just her giving him up that hurts, it's also that so much of her time w him was tainted by sadness and anxiety. she should've had more time to kiss him with affection and contentment rather than fear and sorrow.
love people talking about gillovny being over cuz 1) we were already scraping the bottom of the barrel here & 2) it's been proven a marriage will not stop those freaks
do you guys ever just cry about how GOOD mulder and scully are?? like just genuinely good people. and in a way that feels realistic and not tropey or one dimensional.
