Likes History, Photography, Military, particulary Aircraft. Restorian of ‘Old Tat' bought from Boot Fairs. Travels around and Tweets a lot. Welcome to the Show
Never seen this before and a very, very, rare event. Probably the entire Tanker Fleet at Mildenhall doing an ‘Elephant Walk’. What a shame about the weather!
The Ropery in Chatham Dockyard. One of my Great Grandads was a Ropemaker here. They still make Ropes today, including those for HMS Victory, present and past.
At the Cornwall Aviation Heritage Centre, RAF St Mawgan, which is unfortunately closed today. Most of the Aircraft here will probably end up scrapped as the Museum has to be off site by March next year.
Whilst I enjoyed my visit to the Antiques Fair today, I managed to conserve funds and just bought this Victory Medal for £5.
2029 Pte. J. Murphy R.War.R. That’s a low number, so could be an interesting research?

Todays best Boot Fair find. A collection of Ships Photos and Post Cards. I haven’t counted or sorted them yet, but getting on towards 200 l think. Many are in pristine condition as each one was stored in an envelope

Wasn’t sure that I was going to get to video a Spitfire in flight display this year, but this morning I got Shuttleworth’s Spitfire practising for its one tomorrow.
Three old photos of mine of Concorde. When on Holiday in North Cornwall, I used to hear it’s Sonic Bang (every day around 5pm I think) when approaching the Cornish Coast.
Good morning. Happy 49th Wedding Anniversary to my darling Wife who says we won’t make 50th if I keep her awake fidgeting and keeping her awake all night!
Last Airworthy Shorts Sunderland (civilianised). Was lucky enough to see this just before it departed to the USA to join the Kermit Weeks Aircraft Collection. Many years ago now.
We have BIG JET TV at Mildenhall today. Must admit I’d never heard of him before until a couple of weeks ago. Perhaps I should convert my Motorhome into a viewing platform like that?
The World is a strange place. Russian Military openly admits to targeting Ukrainian Civilians, Towns, Villiages, and infrastructure, yet where’s all the protests, demonstrations, and condemnation from everyone against them?
Sorry to have to report that I will not be posting IWM photos and videos anymore. Henry Ball from IMW complained to Twitter and Twitter removed the content and blocked me. To avoid this in the future, I will refrain from further posting of any IWM content.
Why I nearly always look in the back of old Picture Frames. This Victorian Photo was being used as a backing board for a 1950s photo. Protected from Sun light it is in almost perfect condition. One day I’ll get around to framing it!

Here’s Grandad as a Sub Lieutenant. When he was 25, his hair turned completely white. I wonder if his involvement in the SMS Königsberg action had anything to do with it? This photo was taken at the end of the War, as he’s wearing his Medals (which I now have).
At the Boot Fair and I see someone I know and the seller (who I also
Know) discussing this Wooden Tool. Neither have any idea what it is. Seller wants £15 which seems a lot for something he knows nothing about. I ask to take a look.
