1. Distractions! I save a really good show or movie specifically for the gym, like I’m only allowed to watch it while I’m there, so when I do get to watch it I’m fully invested and forget I’m even working out and it makes the time go by much faster!

2. Push yourself! Set up a debt system with yourself. Make a goal for however many miles you want and if you don’t reach it, owe yourself the miles you missed for your next walk.

It’s also a great boost of motivation, “one more episode” turns into “one more mile” (I use this mostly with thrillers cause I’m so interested in what happens next😭)

Example: My daily goal is five miles, but one day I just can’t get that last mile and have to stop at four. That missed mile adds to the next days goal, so my goal for the next day would be six miles.

Obvi not all of these tips will work for everyone and that’s okay!! There’s other ways to be active and so many threads on great home workouts you can do, these are just things that have worked for me personally and I’d like to share for others who could use them!

3. Location! I personally go to the gym and workout on the same treadmill every day, indoors are so much more convenient than outdoors. Less likely for you to overheat, doesn’t matter what it’s like outside and you’re in more control of your workout overall.

4. Energy! If you feel too tired to workout that day, drink coffee or an energy drink. It’s never too late to get more steps in. If you have spare energy at the end of the day don’t let it go to waste! Walk around your room until your tired!

If you can’t get to a gym that’s okay, you can walk outside. Around your neighborhood, your house or maybe a park nearby! If you don’t have access to any of those locations then do some chores around your house like dusting, vacuuming, cleaning windows etc.

6. Clothes! Shoes are probably the most important, a bad pair of shoes can ruin your feet and make it extremely painful to go on a walk. Underwear is also important, if you’re wearing something that you can’t walk for a long period of time in, change out of it!

5. Hydration! Obviously guys please drink water it is so important and helpful. If walking makes you hungry, drink water until you’re full! Make yourself a daily water intake goal. There will be a link at the end of this thread where you can find how much you should be drinking.

7. Goals! Also super obvious but set realistic goals for yourself. If they’re too far out of your reach your subconscious will know and will eventually give up on them, making them useless from the beginning. Baby steps are essential to preventing exhaustion.

Comfort is the key to walking for hours and making it feel like just a few minutes. Also, if looking good is important to you, there are so soo many good workout clothes you can wear and they’ll definitely improve your confidence and your looks!

End of thread! Not sure where to start? Try one mile first, then if you feel like you can more, do more! One mile is equal to about 2,000 steps. I use StepsApp to track my steps. It tells you your time, miles and calories! Thank you everyone for reading my thread! Be safe!
