We are now in 2008 (2022). Big financial crash. The first iPhone (ChatGPT) was presented just last year. The first functional Android (1.0) phone will be presented in October later this year. The next 3-5 generations will revolutionize literally everything.

He got there in 2043 with the 50th crew. For a while he thought he could help the Command and Control team but everything was already running smoothly. So instead he decided to dedicate full time to his new hobby... Martian Rum. After perfecting the recipe he went into Wine,
Next 3-5 generations of ChatGPT and its future competitors will revolutionize literally everything in the same way smartphones did in the past 15 years. People who haven’t realized this today will do in the next 3 years.
After my last post about leaving my CTO job to work on longevity many people have reached out asking what I'm working on actually? What I'm building for longevity? The short answer is... nothing. Yet. The long answer is... well, this post.
In January I left my job to start working on my ikigai: longevity. My plan was to start a startup but I found
@aocampox
and
@kgiperez
along the way and I decided to join
@epiterna_
because we share the same mission, principles and mindset.
@mkaeberlein
Wow, this makes me so sad. DAP must continue. Is one of the coolest projects in longevity. How much annual capital is needed for DAP to continue?
In a few months I'm turning 30 so maybe that's why I'm interested in
#longevity
again. Even if we don't fully understand the science
#aging
, we do have very good hypothesis about why and how it happens at a cellular and molecular level.
So I’ve been diving into the science of longevity for companion animals for the past weeks. Initially I was thinking of writing just one long post but after 100 papers I knew I had to break it down.
The
#longevity
#biotech
community has been suuuper welcoming. I’ve talked with more than 30 people in the past days and everyone offered their help. I’m suuuper grateful 😭
The reason I went into longevity biotech and especially therapeutics (drastic career change) is because I explored the longevity space with a tabula rasa mindset. Instead of trying to find where my skills could be valuable, I’ve found a problem I think it’s very much worth
@freddier
I'm optimist because this didn't exist a decade ago when I first got interested in longevity: a group of young and talented people who are taking aging seriously as a problem to solve through hard core engineering.
@freddier
Today is empty but it’s crazy to think that here is where we’ll change the world with life extending science by working on the biggest challenge ever: ageing.
Quality vs quantity is a false dichotomy in longevity. Aging IS reduced quality, a total systemic disaster. The main goal of longevity biotech is to slow down, pause or reverse aging. Which will help people live longer, true, but also, inevitably, help people live healthier.
One important difference between Europe and the US is that in Europe you get mostly inspired by the past while in the US you get mostly inspired by the future
Santa 🎅 is here and he has brought a new post. Today I want to share how both tiny and drastic

changes have a great impact on accelerating and decelerating the biology of

We are buildings things like this. They are called LLMs, apps, smartphones, rockets, satellites, cameras, chips, proteins, molecules, vaccines, etc. Creativity and ambition are not dead; they’re focused on what’s important for us right now.
I’ve been looking at the problem of longevity from every possible angle (lifestyle, wearables, clinics, etc.) and I came to the inevitable conclusion that the first medicine explicitly intended to increase healthy lifespan will change our healthcare systems and society forever.
I know the chances of success are ridiculous. This journey that I'm starting is just stupid. Startups are hard and biotech startups, especially those focused on longevity, are even harder. But hey. There is nothing else I'd rather do with my life right now.
Today was my last at
@EPITERNA_
and I just want to say how grateful I am to
@aocampox
and
@kgiperez
for the opportunity to spend these months alongside them pushing the longevity space forward! My ikigai is still
#longevity
so I'm going to take a minute and plan my next steps!
Today I talked for about an hour with a 65 year old Japanese woman that looked around 50. She's obsessed with longevity and puts a lot of effort on her nutrition and exercise routine. She didn't know much about the science of aging so I had to recommend the Japanese version of
Over the past weeks I've been trying to understand which type of

therapeutics are more likely to become a product in the short term and which will only reach the market after many iterations.
I'm starting to create a digital garden with what I do for my own longevity and why (evidence, biomarkers, risk). It's not something that fits nicely into a blog. Would you be interested?
The perfect benefits package for a longevity startup:
- gym membership
- full body MRIs
- mediterranean food service
- therapy
- supplements

cohort!! So many talented engineers, artists, scientists, investors from all over the world passionate about solving aging. Nothing unites more than a common mission and I can now call many of these amazing people… friends. I feel so fortunate 🥹
So. My goal for the next year is to launch a longevity

startup, raise capital, gather a team of talented people and get to work. Not necessarily in that order.
@freddier
En realidad no necesito que ChatGPT genere respuestas “correctas” (menos cuando le pregunto por información concreta). Lo que necesito es me ayude a pensar, generar ideas y rellenar huecos (para lo que antes necesitaba un equipo).
Are there more people wanting to work on longevity biotechnology than positions available at the moment? Because that would mean we need to create those jobs, possibly by creating many new companies.
Questionable attempt to group

The problem with X is that information is unstructured, search is unusable and finding summarized historical data is impossible.
This is not about immortality or anything that resembles mythology. I’m an engineer… so this is about extending healthy lifespan. This is biotechnology.
And my 5th rule is… advance. For now, there's nothing more we can do to slow down aging. Until the first drug with a proven effect at the molecular and cellular level is marketed, 120 years remains the maximum we can enjoy. So work to advance the science and accelerate the
In the past month I've read many books that go over the science of aging so you don't have to. Just kidding. You have to. You definitely do. But only after reading my post, subscribed and shared it. It's a pretty good recap.
The best part of the interview is when Richard Miller suddenly says: There are some people, although I'm not in that group, who think there is such a thing as a senescence cell. So obviously, 100% confused,
@PeterAttiaMD
asks for clarification.
@stanete
i would put this 1st since all the other points are things people are probably somewhat familiar with.
most people never thought about dropping everything and switching careers to advance the science and technology of longevity (or supporting financially / advocacy)
I'm talking with random people at the airport about how we're all using ChatGPT. And how it has changed the way we think. This has never happened before with any other product. Ever.
@CapitanBitcoin
Y aprovecharse de las inseguridades de personas con obesidad para ganar seguidores y votos es absurdamente ruin. Eso no es cultura de la aceptación, sino cultura de destrucción que atenta contra la salud y la longevidad de las personas.
