@MonicaGandhi9 In person schooling is not essential at all. There are abundant counterexamples: home educated people like myself who did well in further education despite missing out on school as a child. What's essential is unsupervised free play with other children. School is unnecessary.

PTSD is real, but it doesn't affect everyone who had horrific experiences. See @The_Real_McNab and @TheRealDrKev work

@stephsmithio It contributes, but there are other variables. Intelligence, opportunities, connections, wealth and personality all play a role. Also I think there's something to be said for consistently working at a sustainable pace for you instead of working as hard as possible.

@Paddy_Barrett I agree but not for this reason. Do you need to eliminate fat? No. Alcohol is bad for lots of reasons, but this one is pretty situational. For example, a highly active person needs lots of energy. They wouldn't avoid it because of calories alone.

I've been seeing more of this sentiment: "If you can't win a live debate, you are wrong." I would say your likelihood of 'winning' a live debate has almost no correlation with the truth of your views. Where 'winning' is appearing to come off better to the avg viewer.

Gastropods don't have a brain. They have ganglia: small clusters of neurons. So a brain is unnecessary for sentience, and ganglia can be sufficient. Oysters have ganglia too. There is no reason to think that oysters are less likely to be sentient than other animals.

Slugs and snails (gastropods) are clearly sentient. They pursue rewarding stimuli (demonstrating desire, pleasure) and avoid harmful stimuli (pain). They also display learning and memory capability.
