@sweatystartup Incandescents have a more similar spectrum to the sun, LEDs typically have a “spiky” spectrum eg with 2-3 dominant frequencies. I worked in a lighting research center. I won’t make any claim as to health benefits of LED vs incandescent but spectrums are dramatically different

@Altimor i think what makes it more tricky w/ humans: 1) there are more sensors on a human 2) the input is harder to control precisely 3) we experience things over time, giving us more frames to reason about I'll bet ads will use little transforms like this to increase appeal +50% tho

@emm0sh imo the main reason why electrical/mechanical CAD is subpar has to do with the users not being a software developers. Software developers will get frustrated and fix software, hardware engineers will get frustrated and get really good at using bad tools

@gizmobly If you have to do file format conversion or some kind of equation (eg write a function for all points on the path of an arc defined by…) it will save you tons of time. I would say it’s great for “shallow” work and fast experiments.

@jamesacowling @datadoghq @getsentry Datadog can be tweaked to be more reasonable, the easiest thing is to just remove integrations, esp. to AWS (++ if you're serverless!!!), they can charge for data from integrations they're ingesting even if they aren't used. I think we cut 90% of our bill this way.
