Congratulations Xavier Neyens on being selected as the Gatorade Washington Baseball Player of the Year! The MVHS Junior batted .455, scored 34 runs, and compiled an OPS of 1.327. As a pitcher he was 5-0 with a 0.47 ERA and 37 K’s over 29.1 innings. Congrats @XNeyens

Washington All-State Baseball games are being held this weekend in Yakima featuring Kannin Crews (Anacortes) Quinn Swanson (MV) - both playing for ‘Team Adams.’ They will play in the championship game Sunday. Crews played 3B and Swanson LF on Saturday. Swanson was 2-2 with 1R.

Bulldogs win 3-2 in a late gritty comeback victory over the Seahawks. Down 2-1 in the bottom of the 6th, freshman Reece Roberts singled in 2 runs to put the Bulldogs up 3-2. Olmsted pitched a 1-2-3 top of the 7th to the seal the victory for MV. (Additional game notes below)

Former Burlington-Edison Football coach Glenn Rickert passed away on June 9, 2024 at the age of 96. He coached the Tigers to 3 State Championships and was one of the first coaches inducted into the WA State Coaches Hall of Fame. Rest in Peace coach!

Lynden got 3 runs in the 3rd inning. Anacortes clawed back scoring 4 runs in the 6th inning. Lynden tied it in the 7th to force extras. In the 10th, Anacortes got the game winning RBI single from Jake Andrew and then he shut down the Lions for the final 3 outs. Ballgame!

Brady Collins delivered a solid pitching performance for MV as they secured the 4-0 win and their 6th straight win. Collins pitched 6 innings with 7 K’s. At the plate Neyens was 3-4 with 2 doubles, Brewer was 2-4, and Anderson was 2-3. The Bulldogs are now 12-2 atop the NWC

B-E Tigers beat Squalicum 3-1 behind strong pitching by Jake VanPelt. The freshman went 6 innings allowing 1 run on 2 hits and struck out 7 to earn the win for the Tigers. The Tigers got runs in the 6th and 7th from RBI singles by Thurmond and Granger. B-E is now 7-8.

Mount Vernon Christian baseball moves into 1B State quarterfinals with 3-0 win over Mossyrock. Joel Votipka got the W in the shutout win with 10 K’s (6.1 IP) and had 2RBI’s at the plate. The Hurricanes next game will be Saturday against #1 seed Liberty Christian.

Anacortes baseball falls 4-1 to a tough Oak Harbor team ( #11 WIAA RPI - 3A). Adam VanEgdom and Wesley Green both collected 2 hits for the Seahawks. Anacortes plays this Friday in a big match-up against Mount Vernon featuring the two of the top teams in the NWC.

B-E Tigers cruise in 2A District baseball game over B’ham, 9-3 Once again, Tyler Walker dominated on the bump. The big lefty pitched 7 innings and struck out 10. The Tigers collected 10 hits, led by Walker & Roetcisoender with 2 RBI each. The Tigers advance to play Thursday.
