After ~7 years, today was my last day at Twitter. Nothing but gratitude and admiration for my colleagues and friends, the culture and values, the company and its mission. I'll miss you all! Thank you for everything that you've taught me 🙏
Happy to announce that today I joined
@markog
(again!) and the team at
@PlusPlusHQ
to help drive the product direction. Super excited about what's coming next!
I am excited to announce that
@PieterHumphrey
will be taking over
@SFJUG
. After 10 years, 100+ events, and 5000+ members, Pieter's passion, energy, and commitment is exactly what the group needs to thrive!

What do you think of pre-interview coding challenges you could do on your own time/environment? That's what we do at Twitter. During the actual interview we explore your solution and ask what-if questions.
I was really impressed by
@lessachu
's talk from last evening on how to manage at scale. Even now I'm still thinking about all of the insights I learned. Thank you!
I'm really proud of the 170+ people across
@TwitterEng
who have taught their fellow colleagues in 2018 through
@University
- and the team behind the scenes that made that happen.

Immutable APIs and mutable internals with
@posco
at
#scalesf
. Sacrilege?!? Nah. Just a pragmatic way to hide mutable monstrosity behind functional purity for nice performance gains.
Weirdest experience. Woke up at 3am thinking that it was time to head out to
#oneteam
, went through my morning routine, and dressed up. I only realized upon leaving the room that I'd be a few hours too early so I went back to bed. It's been exciting.
A little stacker in our backyard. This guy was preying on the our little guinea pigs, who were completely oblivious to the mortal dangers from above. 🦉😋🔪🐁☠️
After years of chugging along my 2011 MacBook Pro finally died. Thinking about replacing it with a 2020 Dell XPS 13 Developer Edition. Any advice from macOS=>Linux (on a desktop) converts out there? What about Apple=>Dell? 😲
