I think it's revealing that the NYPD evidently thinks this body camera video—in which a cop says "Oh OK, have a good one," then walks back to his car after a city councilman identifies himself by name and title—is flattering to the officer/ department and worth releasing quickly.

I asked Yang what policies they’re aligned on, beside the community banking/ remittance idea. He spoke about that proposal, then said, “We both like bicycles, there’s that,” with a chuckle. “Carlos and I, I think, are aligned on many things.” He didn’t list anything else

Remember: Just because you’re vaccinated does NOT mean you can run around placing bets all over Midtown while evading your brother-in-law's goons and delaying telling your family about your impending divorce because of a mistress who works at your jewelry shop

Yeah, we'll never know an exact number, but it's important to remember many people died last year because Cuomo wanted to dunk on de Blasio re: shutdowns and masks. The feud isn't just some petty drama

Is an exemption for such laws when an elected official is carrying out "official duties," or is the NYPD making up rules as they go along?

I agree. If it’s not Eric Adams himself who is indicted, he’ll say stuff like “When it comes to Turkey, it all is looking kind of murky” and “everyone is all excited even though I’m not indicted,” and hobble to 2025, when there will be a regular, competitive primary election.

A lot will still have to happen for Eric Adams to resign. Only a direct indictment would spur a resignation and, even then, Adams may choose, Trump-style, to fight it out. If a top aide is indicted, Adams might just try his best to distance himself.

@jscros This is a city website not state—a rare instance of something actually being on de Blasio and not Cuomo
