Let’s do this… we talk about one of the best and bleakest demonic possession movies: THE BLACKCOAT’S DAUGHTER (or FEBRUARY for some)!
My review:

It’s interesting that we’re in award/best of season and very little talk is happening about THE NORTHMAN’s production. It really just fell into obscurity.
First Reformed came out 5 years ago and I’m reminded Ethan Hawke’s soul shaking performance didn’t even get nominated against Rami Malek wearing false teeth.
Politics aside, we now live in a world where both Fantasy and Horror won Oscars on the same night. Aspiring artists, please keep your imaginations crazy and wonderful.
People have been sharing a surprising number of new fan art and Twitter mentions regarding

I should say, I encourage everyone to buy/rent a copy and support independent cinema whenever they can. Films like this are precious, unique and important.

Being called out in a video saying men are losing their rights in todays society due to feminist propaganda was not a beef I ever expected to find myself in.
Before/after. See what I mean? There's just no comparison. Which would you rather hang in your entryway? How did the AI 'know' exactly what the starting pic needed to complete it? Amazing.
Discovered my channel was “minted” as an NFT.
I don’t give consent to these things. I don’t approve of NFTs on any moral level. It epitomizes the destructive and dehumanizing nature of “content”.
Can the internet and the people using it please stop being so exhausting.
Thanks!
I got deeply depressed on my walk home thinking about my channels performance.
I’ve now deleted the app. Looking around me, I forgot how meaningless numbers are. Need to remind myself to stay grounded.
Four years ago when Trump won, broadcasters showed scenes of people in shock and crying. Today, a Biden declaration shows coverage that would make you think Jesus had returned.
EVIL DEAD RISE is suffocatingly gruesome and tremendous fun. It sticks wholeheartedly to the series’ ethos of savagery and doesn’t stray from what we know and love. Cruel unforgiving evil and a gratifying payoff!
Probably not the best film to watch in a poor mood! THE BANSHEES OF INISHERIN is a bitter breakdown of how we make our own petty problems the centre of a universe that forgets we exist the next day. Very funny, very sad but very, very honest. Also kinda spooky…
Ok, serious talk since my inbox is full of em...
No, I will not be covering any pandemic movies. It’s insensitive and exploitative to capitalise off a serious global pandemic.
Yes, I do have films I want to cover, but I’ve shelved certain topics until the time is appropriate.
Hi new followers! I’m Northern Irish, that answers any and every enquiry you have about me. Enjoy your stay.
Yes, there is a “North”. It’s the one you all forget about.
After over 2 years waiting, glad to report

was a strong, unnerving slow-burner about child abuse, abandonment, addiction, and a big fuck-off Wendigo occasionally showing up to make everyone’s lives even more miserable.
Oh, fun life news: I planned to retire dodgeball last season, but my old club reached out and pulled me back to form. Just won my first gold in 10 years!
I struggled through depression, anxiety, stigma and low self-esteem to make a career out of my hobby... and now I have 500,000 subscribers.
Don't let anyone tell you or stop you from achieving something you truly believe in.
Utterly stupid and I strongly urge people NOT to use these elitist vapid terms.
It implies horror wasn’t already doing what they suggest. It’s snobby, ignorant and perpetuates the stigma that there are “intellectual tiers” to horror.
Just be scared and enjoy the ride!
2017 / 2022 … Yesterday was my 5th year anniversary of making videos full time. I inject a lot of myself into these topics, both the good and the bad. Thank you for continuing to stick with me on this journey. ❤️

is more vicious, aggressive and wholesome than ever before. I was a bit meh on the final act, but it’s still brilliant at keeping you guessing and its satire of romanticising true crime and conspiracy theories is naturally a timely take.
VIOLENT NIGHT is both the best Thor movie of the year and the best Die Hard sequel. Joyfully witty, bloody inventive and had a fun little character twist.
I have no context but either I’m overthinking it or… the creators have made a legitimately harrowing piece of environmental/visual storytelling and I want to see the full story unfold.
I’m getting strong body bag in Elm Street/The Grudge vibes.
How do people without talent, creativity or any ounce of watchability get popular?
I get taste is subjective (I’m not exactly the most interesting person but here we are)… hoyever there has to be a legit reason they have an audience? Right?!
This video shows xQc 'reacting' to my video.
He leaves the room 5 seconds into the video and then returns 10 minutes later, making a mockery out of the fact that he is not reacting.
Tomorrow I release Part 1 of 3 covering The Three Flavours Cornetto Trilogy (permitting Universal don’t copyright block it).
Genuinely one of the toughest projects I’ve worked on in a while, so hopefully it delivers. I’d really appreciate your viewership on this one! ❤️
For all the people that make fun of my accent, nothing will ever sound more godlike than the one time a drunk Matthew Illard told my friends and I, "I have no idea what you just said to me..."
Hey
@TeamYouTube
, can we deactivate this feature?
If your numbers just ever so slightly fall outside your average stats, it tells you this. But you give us symbols to represent ups and downs anyway, so why the cold statements like I have a competitive manager over my shoulder?

While I enjoyed HBO's The Last of Us, my bias for the game led to some unfavourable comparisons... so here's 45 minutes of me talking about the problems I had with it.
I'm gonna hide now.
Regarding the lack of posts/videos lately, something just snapped in me and I can’t seem to find my muse anymore. Everything comes with a self-defeating mental obstacle that keeps winning. I have many topics planned but my trust in myself is gone.
One day at a time as they say!
STILL WAKES THE DEEP wears its body creature horror inspirations proudly: Carpenter’s The Thing, Lovecraft’s Color Out of Space, King’s The Mist. But its strongest asset is its colourful blue collar Scottish characters. Its dry idiosyncratic humour is delivered pitch perfectly.
For fuck sake snobs, it's a HORROR movie. Get over yourselves and stop trying to pedantically and vapidly prove every intelligent artistic horror movie is a fucking "thriller".
It's like calling Die Hard a "crime drama".
Argentina’s demonic “Southern gothic” WHEN EVIL LURKS is a contender for the best horror film of 2023. Cruel, unforgiving, strange and a fittingly rotten gut punch.
In 2022 I made 41 videos - 2 more than 2021 despite always telling myself to "slow down".
Each video takes a full week to produce researching, writing, recording, editing and all the admin in between is done solely by me. This is on top of a second gig I hope to make full time.
I suppose now’s the time to tell you that Universal are flying me out to London tomorrow to preview

Biggest moment in my horror YouTubing essay career so far, both fanboy giddy and immensely terrified!
Reading that people rewatch my videos reminds me of the creators I rewatch all the time and I feel so insanely humbled and grateful knowing my videos have that effect.
I get a lot of comments saying “we get it, you were good at English class, stop showing off”.
On the contrary, I was absolutely god awful at English in school and discouraged from attempting it at A-Level. Besides dyslexia, I also hated it because I just didn’t understand it.
After The Witch and The Lighthouse, Rob Eggers next film is a 10th century Icelandic Viking revenge drama being shot in my hometown in Northern Ireland next year... holy fucking shit that’s a thing.
Robert Eggers’ The Northman filming from March to May 2020 in Belfast, starring Alexander Skarsgård, Bill Skarsgård, Willem Dafoe, Nicole Kidman, Anya Taylor-Joy, Claes Bang and Björk.
Multiple studios are exploring using AI to generate scripts based on books and other public domain IP.
The studios reportedly plan to hire writers to rewrite those AI scripts when the writers’ strike ends.

That was a wild year, huh?
Personally, I hid away from the world by making 46 videos in 2020, and I plan to be just as busy in 2021. Thanks for watching and keeping me alive and somewhat sane!
Hey
@TeamYouTube
, if I follow your rules and guidelines correctly, and you even tell me I’m following them correctly... then why are you still being selective about how you wield your authority?
