You know what? @CalgaryPolice has made me realize that Calgarians can hold a weekly, impromptu Pride Parade through the streets of downtown without permits or paying for policing. It can take over any and all parks, and vendors are welcome to set up shop wherever they like!

Nova Scotia has done almost everything right during the pandemic - greatly limiting COVID deaths, sickness, and economic damage. While Alberta ditches masks on July 1, Nova Scotia's current guidance has masks required indoors until September when at least 75% have 2 doses.

Based on what’s been shared in this thread, Jason Kenney’s lay-off of over 25,000 people yesterday is likely the second largest single layoff announcement by in Canadian history. As yet, no other provincial government has laid off large numbers of workers, and none likely will.

There have been tiny protests against COVID public health measures in Nova Scotia, but public support for the measures remains extremely high. The government closely followed expert public health advice. It worked really well. So people support it strongly.

Why do we have to mandate mask use? Because asking nicely only reaches so many people, and we need almost everyone to do it. I just stopped at @SafewayCanada in Kensington and less 50% wore masks, including some staff. I'm so glad it's mandatory in Calgary on Saturday!

As a business owner, I have no confidence in the Kenney government’s economic plan. It seems more important to be ideologically pure than tied to evidence-backed approaches. It’s like we’re banking solely on a tax cut for large businesses, and not much else.

Not a single person submitted a complaint about the impacts of New Brunswick's original Policy 713 to the Department of Education. It seems the issue was made up by Higgs to shift focus from his policy failures and ongoing challenges to his leadership.

Jason Kenney has introduced a series of massive incentives for the oil and gas industry since becoming Premier. At the same time, he has eliminated or significantly reduced most incentives for emerging industries. It’s bizarre and it shows an alarming lack of competence.

Both Jason Kenney and Dr. Hinshaw are complicit in causing hundreds of unnecessary deaths and serious illness for thousands. They have both chosen to do nothing to mitigate virus spread, even though there are many approaches that are proven to be effective and well known.

Sure, with no hesitation, I believe Jason Kenney is lacking a moral compass - evidenced by decades of disturbing behaviour. But the personal story of this election for me is that I got to vote for someone I respect and admire greatly @RachelNotley . Best Premier in my lifetime.

The term "parents' rights" is most commonly used in the context of trying to repress and control LGBTQ+ children and treat them as possessions of the parents. Schools have a duty to protect and nurture children, not to coddle and tacitly endorse the views of transphobic parents.

In Alberta, Kenney's government did everything it could to avoid the appearance of following public health advice (presumably to appease the far-right core of UCP). This included implementing measures weeks late - leading to 100s of avoidable deaths and serious illness in 1000s.

The bottom line? If the police will truly give the level of support they have given to the "freedom" people to all protests - including those born out of police oppression - then they deserve our support. The problem is... the evidence points to a very different conclusion.

I'm sick of being told that I should be happy that Andrew Scheer won't take away my right to marry my partner. LGBTQ Canadians deserve full support & acceptance from anyone who wants to be PM. It's clear that Scheer falls far, far short of that. That is a fact, plain and simple.
