Home from another #Jasper trip. And I just gotta say, Jasperites are some of the best people I’ve ever met. Sincerely. Everyone was so kind and so compassionate for their neighbours, under really tough circumstances. I’m sure Jasper will rebuild and be better than ever.

For the first night in my career, journalists in Edm no longer have access to fire & police radio. This is because of a system upgrade - but the result is we can no longer effectively cover breaking news in #yeg . RT - if you think it’s important for residents to be informed.

*it’s worth noting, as I did in a previous tweet, that one member of the church apologized and said the people insulting us were not members of their community. But I also didn’t hear anyone ask the aggressive people to stop insulting us, including over a megaphone.

I’ve been evacuated from wildfires at least a dozen times including Fort Mac and Slave Lake. People don’t need to see panicked tweets about how “scary” this is. They need to know that if they are prepared, calm, kind, patient and help each other, they will be OK. #abfire #Jasper

The #Jasper wildfire is no longer “out-of-control.” Now “being held” meaning it’s not expected to grow in priority areas. It comes on the same day as the funeral for Morgan Kitchen, who was killed during the firefight. “He will always be remembered ❤️” - @JasperNP . #abfire
