This past weekend, there were multiple disgusting incidents of hatred, specifically against the LGBTQ2S+ community. Hate will never win. Not here. Not in Calgary. There is no tolerance for this behaviour. It’s on us, more now than ever, to show what Calgarians are made of.

So I wasn’t going to go to #yycpride today. No one cares about yesterday’s newspaper. But @KennyVLimaC said “in these dark times, you gotta show up”. And I’m so glad I did. Thanks to @bbbscalgary for letting me with you! Everyone deserves dignity and safety.

1/ I know people are very nervous about the COVID situation — I am too— but please don’t wait for government to tell you to do the right thing. In addition to the stuff you’ve been doing — was your hands, wear a mask, keep distance, get a flu shot — it’s time to do more.

So her newest argument is that nothing she has ever said or believed is fair game and none of it has any influence on who she is or what decisions she makes. Isn’t that … worse? Like she has no intellectual or ethical core and will say or do anything?

Calgary, I’ve been saying three things so far when it comes to our COVID-19 response. Clean hands, clear heads, open hearts. With the situation evolving, I’ve got three more. Stay home, be kind, save lives.

For a bit of fun, I leveraged photoshop and a handful of generative AI tools to imagine Calgary's former mayor @nenshi as a 1980s-style professional wrestling bodyguard. I think this one turned out really well. #yyccc #yyc

It's time we talked about COVID-19. The City of Calgary has been working extremely diligently with our partners at Alberta Health Services to monitor and prepare for the impacts of this virus. I've been focusing on three basic principles. Clean hands, clear heads, open hearts

Today’s news about the provincial government’s decision to cut the low income transit passes in Calgary and Edmonton is incredibly upsetting. This pass was a way to help our neighbours. A means for everyone to actively participate in their community. It was an essential service

Everywhere I go and talk to people in this province, I'm hearing the same thing - hope is back on the horizon. This campaign is about shifting our mindsets to what is possible. Together. To what we can do FOR Alberta. FOR all of us.

61% of American oil imports come from Canada. 8% Saudi. The others aren't in the top five. And Biden just banned Russian oil. Is it wise to mislead and insult your biggest market in this way?

Setting aside the impossibility of going to a meeting when you have no idea who the guest of honour is, did you leave the room when she started speaking and it became apparent? Or did you enjoy your meal and pose for smiling pictures after?

I profoundly regret attending a meeting without having sought the input of my staff and without having undertaken a fulsome vetting of the individuals or organizations with whom I was meeting – which is my usual practice. I, alone, own this mistake. I will do better. #Oshawa

Wow. I’d love to know how much this misadventure has cost the taxpayer. What were the contract break fees on the super lab? How much was Dynalife being paid under the sole-source (was it?) contract? What are the new break fees? Who are DynaLyfe’s lobbyists and their payment?

I’m voting #YesForCalgary because this is an extraordinary deal for our city. For $390 million from Calgary, we would see over $4 billion invested here. I’m voting yes because I believe #YYC can host the cleanest, most cost effective games in history. Let’s dream big and vote yes
