What angers me is that this approach means *we* accept that the Foundation Programme, national speciality rotational training and postgraduate examinations are not the only way to work at the level of an ST6 in an ACCS specialty.

A genuine question. If the PAs can go to the ACCS training, and be taught the same skills on the ward, and do the same service provision, and they can extend their scope of training to ST6 level… What is actually the point of the training programme?

I still struggle to understand how this role fills a clinical need within primary or secondary care that isn't met by doctors or ACPs. If EoE feel PAs need a 12 month foundation programme after graduation, then I'm further mystified on the benefits.
