According to the Ancient Age Eusebius, Trabzon was founded in 756 BC by Ionian Miletusians. My hometown Trabzon, which was founded by the Miletus as an ancient Greek city, was able to preserve its Greek identity for 2675 years, until 100 years ago.

Today, I visited with my father the tomb within the scope of the historical monument in Trabzon of my devshirme fourth great-grandfather who was kidnapped from Central Europe by Ottomans and raised as a statesman in the Topkapı Palace in Constantinople.
