@6ixbuzztv
International students, by default, need to go back home after study. That’s the terms of the study permit and these students agreed to it before landing in Canada.
Stop assuming study permits get converted to permanent residency automatically.
@ManyBeenRinsed
Wow, this is insane. International students don’t get to dictate Canadian immigration terms, period. Under the current Liberal regime, maybe, but long term, but they need to set the correct expectations.
@ShaziGoalie
They can lower the price to $559K and take the loss, or convert the condo to international student slum for 8 vegetarians from Gurajat and charge them $500 per bunk bed.
@oneplusone10
Yes, mass, undiverse immigration with fraudulent international students are definitely the way to go. And don’t forget about significant increase in headcount of public servants in a debt-driven growth fashion.
@TdLeaker
This story is definitely news worthy, but it did not make it to any MSM. I guess news like this is not welcomed in MSM and corporate banking world. If it shows up in MSM, it means RBC wants to lower acquisition price at the last minute.
@CanIndian_Bro
This is actually extremely bearish. TD knows exactly about housing and healthcare crisis. TD also knows that IRCC is reducing Indian international students. Yet TD still does it because there is no other way to increase profit domestically.
@kim_gaetz
Canadians love paying taxes and when they receive a little bit of their own money back, they get ecstatic. What kind of prisoner/slave mindset if that?
@Tablesalt13
Sudden immigration drop is critical. It’s like cutting demand in half instantly, this should definitely pull housing price back to sustainable level. But why would Liberals do that? They’ve been pumping RE for the past 8 years hard.
@6ixbuzztv
The Liberals will give permanent residency out for free and process citizenship much faster before the election. Mark my words. It will happen this year just in time to influence the next election.
@Tablesalt13
Based on the last 9 years of action, do you think Trudeau and his cabinets want to solve our housing crisis or make it worse? I have more than a bridge to sell you.
@JohnPasalis
It’s hilarious to hear this from
@SeanFraserMP
who introduced mass immigration as IRCC minister from 2021 to 2023. Honestly, no housing plan can survive the unsustainable scale of his mass immigration scheme.
@CanIndian_Bro
If we added 300K people in 2 months, then we will add 1.8 million people this year. Mass immigration continues regardless of public sentiment. We’re in a fake democracy.
@CanIndian_Bro
If nobody is buying, then the LPC will import 2 - 3 millions of new comers and dump them on your face. If 2 - 3 millions are not enough, they will go for 5 millions per year (2 million PR + 2 million students + 1 million refugees). If you want to save the society, buy now.
@RE_MarketWatch
Why not blame both the government (IRCC especially) and international college students and refugees? Nobody is blaming the grad students (master or PhD) because we know the value of these talents.
@optimistictory
Wait is that
@MarcMillerVM
? Interesting connection. Marc is pushing hard on the mass immigration front despite historical high public resistance. McGill people sucks.
@TdLeaker
You can fit 20+ Tim Hortons employees inside a detached homes. They don’t have to make $300K each because they collectively make $600K. Buy before it’s too late. Liberals will import 3 - 4 million new comers per year soon no matter what.
@MarcMillerVM
Why are you increasing international students work hours from 20 hours before pandemic to 24 hours now? This doesn’t make sense because international students already proved that they are well funded ($20K per year), and we have rising unemployment in our youth.
@ShaziGoalie
Another outcome of mass immigration. According to Stat Canada, we are growing at 1.1% every quarter, which translates to 440K new comers every quarter, 135K per month. Next, combine that with local demand. All in, 120K new cars per month is not surprising.
@StephenPunwasi
Exactly. When Bank of Canada started rate hikes in 2022, the Liberal regime immediately started mass immigration (especially in international students and refugees) as a countermeasure. Ever wonder why the BoC rate hikes are less effective than expected? 🧠
@TrueNorthCentre
We should give Justin and LPC less attention, publicity and platform. If no one shows up to his conference, no one bother to listen to him on all occasion, Justin would probably resign.
@mikalskuterud
Restaurant owners from south Asian communities are selling food supervisor jobs (eligible for express entry immigration program) for like $50K - $100K cash to their own. It’s not even news anymore. Most LMIA are fraudulent.
@Tablesalt13
Awesome. We’ve been delaying this day for far too long. Most economic growth is via mass immigration/debt-driven. Time to flush out the over leveraged.
@BenRabidoux
@KashPrime
It’s pretty crazy that students like him can stay. Expect to see more crimes from international students now because they know they can walk free from crimes.
@daniel_foch
If you believe that Sean Fraser is serious in reducing temporary residents, I don’t know what to say. The guy was the immigration minister from 2021 to 2023.
@TrueNorthCentre
Even if five in five Canadians oppose the raise, MPs will get the raise. Canadians’ opinion does not matter in Canadian politics. Simple as that.
@CI2100
Do you honestly think 4.4% annual population growth rate (estimated based on Q4 2023 data) is sustainable? People are dying left to right due to unsustainable immigration. Why can’t we follow sustainable immigration?
@BenRabidoux
International students must demonstrate proof of funds before getting study permit. They are financially better off than most domestic students, who don’t have $20K CAD sitting in bank per year. So please leave whatever jobs to domestic students first.
@JimChuong
Because the people in Toronto are willing to take highest debt, sometimes even using Brampton mortgage or group purchase. By GDP per capita, Alberta is the richest.
@bk_belton
Looks like a very reputable source, lmao. /s
BTW the most frequently used metric to evaluate how a country is doing is “real GDP per capita”. You might want to check that out.
@BenRabidoux
USA attracts machine learning researchers, quantum computing researchers, rocket scientists and etc. Canada attracts college students, refugees, mortgage specialists, Amazon Prime drivers. Are you surprised?
@Tablesalt13
Exactly. The mass immigration train continues despite tens of millions of Canadians whining about health care and real estate crisis. 1.6 million new comers here we come baby!
@Tablesalt13
The US also imported many illegals via land border. Canada gives these people study permits to make it sounds better. But we’re all doing the same.
@ManyBeenRinsed
Why would these foreigners live in cemeteries instead of simply going back and live a normal life? How terrible is their country of origin?
@himansh36013599
We need to significantly raise property tax rate in Toronto like 1% - 2% while reducing development charges to 2015 levels. Let’s start building and not speculating.
@MikePMoffatt
Liberals will reduce non-permanent residents by giving them permanent residency, and then they will claim victory in reducing TFW…. Of course, for Canadians, the best approach is going back to the 2016 number of 800K, but that will crash RE.
@JonFlynnREstats
Why can’t we like/dislike other people/races/cultures? I feel like it’s ok to do so 20 years ago, now it’s a bad thing. What’s changed?
@MarketManiaCa
2022 and 2023 are just appetizers. 2024 and 2025 would be the main dish of mass immigration. Get ready for 2-4 million new comers annually.
@daniel_foch
We used to attract immigrants who lease BMW X5 as students. Now we attract immigrants who can barely afford a used last-gen Honda civic, even with Brampton auto loan.
@RE_MarketWatch
No, majority of these international college students know clearly that they are here to work and stay, not study. In other words, they work with the federal government together to contribute to the housing and healthcare crisis today.
@thetruthsucks12
We will have UK-style riot or worse pretty much soon. If mass immigration keeps growing at the same pace, we might get another convoy winter 2025.
@valdombre
How much more CO2 omissions would such mass immigration cause? I thought our political elites care about sustainability? Or it’s just a slogan.
@ShaziGoalie
It’s going to get worse until the next election. Mass immigration is at all time high. Liberals said they will reduce immigration level “soon”, but everybody knows that mass immigration is their signature.
@MikePMoffatt
Housing supply really doesn’t matter with our current scale of mass immigration. You can increase housing by 10%, 20% but immigration is growing at much faster rate.
@RE_MarketWatch
Why is it so hard to admit that both the international college students and federal government are fucking Canadians up together equally? I know a few college IT students with bachelor degree back home, whose intention is not to study, but to work and stay here.
@AskKubeir
This is useless. Wanna know what works?
Don’t give international college students work permit of any kind while they study, and at most 1-year PGWP after their study. This will solve rampant fraud and crime in a few months.
@RE_MarketWatch
Tension in society is indeed very high and getting way worse. In a 1st world country, people tend to have more empathy. What happened fits 3rd world criteria.
@Tablesalt13
I mean, the Trudeau team is getting bigger and bolder by day. I thought they only mug local people, steal their cars, do mortgage fraud, sexually assault female kids or something at that level, but damn, not at 9/11 level.
@RE_MarketWatch
There is no labor shortage in the KW region. Period. There are huge lines up for minimum wage jobs everywhere. Saturated Uber driver markets and fast food restaurants etc.
@valdombre
If these students cannot get enough point for express entry, then it’s time for them to go back. That said, wait a few more months and Liberals will grant PR to everyone in the pool. Liberals often give PR for everyone in the pool before a general election.
@sshergil190
How much 🍄 or 🍃 did you consume? If these fake international students were the friendliest sweetest staff, why are most Canadians avoiding such fast food places? Granted, the Liberals + NDP regime is actively assisting with these “international students” than citizens.
@JonFlynnREstats
Mass immigration. Biggest factor. There are tons of other factors such as zoning, green belt, QE, but mass immigration has the largest impact among all factors.
@MinerYukon
This measure is very minor. Want a real measure that is good for most stakeholders? Let all international students focus on study. No work of any form is allowed.
