Meet the needs of your pupils. My 15yo just did yr 10 mocks. She is meant to have her paper enlarged & on blue paper. Many of her teachers had not got this ready for her exams. Maths paper 1, measures not in place. Grade - U Maths paper 2, measures in place. Grade 5 It matters

Lewis Capaldi's Glastonbury set was amazing. The crowd were even better, showing this country is full of beautiful, compassionate, kind people. As Lewis had a full on Tourettes attack the crowd sang for him and cheered his name. ๐Ÿ˜ญโค๏ธ๐Ÿ˜ญโค๏ธ๐Ÿ˜ญ

TAKE YOUR WORK EMAILS OFF YOUR PHONE!!!! (Or at least turn off the notifications/remove from home screen) Sorry to shout, but people don't seem to get how easy it is to prioritise your mental health and take back control. No one needs to have their work emails on their phone.

If I hear Boris say "There will be a summer of catch up" one more time, I am going to scream!!! Education is at breaking point, it's time the government recognises that. Staff will not be able to educate effectively if their mental health is in tatters.

I thought hard about posting this, is it too much information? Is it over sharing? Is it unprofessional? Then I thought, no. We need to talk about this more & be more open. Because there are currently 13million of us going through this, it's not too much. We need to talk about it

Who are the Kylie Minogue's on your staff? I don't mean the blonde Australian's, I mean the ones who have been there for decades, consistently putting in the work, giving us serious value, but not really given the recognition they deserve. Seek them out and thank them.

How a school can help prevent staff illness - lower workload and stress (direct link between stress, magnesium and immune system) - better staffroom facilities to help them eat healthier and time to eat - time & access to toilets to encourage water intake - fresh air

If your first reaction is to jump on with negativity, or even roll your eyes silently then use the summer to reflect on why you are in this profession. If a person says something helps, then facilitate it. End of. Ableism getting in the way of progress is a huge problem.

Headteachers, you don't have to bake for your staff, give them stuffed wellbeing bags, or a day off for Christmas shopping. (All those things are lovely btw) You just have to show you care for your staff. How you do that is personal to you, you just need to do it.

I can't stress this enough, you NEED to look after yourself. I am picking up on so many people struggling at the moment. Your workplace has some responsibility for this, but so do you. You must prioritise your own wellbeing, set your boundaries & find time for relaxing and fun.

Do you have women in your school over the age of 40? You need to be more aware of menopause and put things in place to support them in school. Why? Because when you look at the varied symptoms you realise just how much it impacts their life and their job. More on this later!

If you were to go in your staffroom at lunchtime, what percentage of your staff would be using it? If it is less than 50% I would suggest you look very closely at whether your staff are coping at the moment. It is vital for their health and wellbeing to take a break in the day

The menopause is not an old person thing. It's not just hot sweats and memory fog. Women very often start seeing symptoms in their late 30s/early 40s, but put it down to other things. To raise awareness, comment with your age and (if happy to) your symptoms. #WorldMenopauseDay

We do have to take responsibility for our own wellbeing at work too. What is your top tip for improving your wellbeing at work? Mine is to eat lunch! My brain needs food and and it also needs a rest, so stopping for lunch puts me at my best for the afternoon.

@WhistleblowingT @kennygfrederick Take time to calm your (justified) anger. Then have a discussion with the head and point out that it isn't your responsibility to 'look good' to other members of staff. Say that you will continue with what you are doing as you are fulfilling your role. Be assertive but not rude

This is so important. Schools need to facilitate this happening, and individuals need to remember to take responsibility for their own health and wellbeing too. Taking this attitude will help get the best out of your staff and help recruitment and retention issues.

Wondefully mature and responsible adult, her capacity for love, kindness and empathy grows too. This isn't a one off, she loves doing things for others, and I'm so proud of the woman she is becoming. I will cherish this gift on so many levels.

Be kind to people today. Everyone is tired from early morning alarms and often hungry from getting back to normal eating patterns. That is not a good mix. A kind smile will go a long way to easing the week in. Staff meetings and emails asking for even more work will not!

Help make #edutwitter a wonderful place to be this summer, not the thing to avoid. Less judgement, less anger, less confrontation. More empathy, more understanding, more sensitivity. We don't all have to agree but we can all be fantastically kind. #teacher5aday #notice #connect

Did I need to spend ยฃ30 on extra autumn decorations? No. Did it fill my heart with joy to decorate my house? Yes? Was it worth every penny? Yes! Not exactly Stacey Solomon level, but I love it.

This is so sad to hear. He battled so many demons and it seems like they won. Do listen to his book 'Friends, Lovers and the Big Terrible Things' to understand this amazing man. He reads the audio book himself so it is an immensely powerful listen.

@DavidNautilus1 100%. Technology is great for many things in education but it is causing an over reliance on it and creating a culture of perfection. The chn will learn more from you modelling than clicking through beautifully presented slides.

How many toilets do you have for how many staff? If you have the time it would also be great to know what proportion are male/female and if that matches your ratio of staff. Opening this up for further debate because many people just don't get how this can affect your day.

Raging anxiety today. Over thinking every conversation I've had or not had in the past few weeks, worrying about my businesses and so much more. Thankfully the weather is good so I'm out in the garden with my radio on. Getting muddy and creative.

@aspiringhead22 You listen to their concerns & take them very, very seriously. Never dismiss a parent's views about their own child. How a child behaves at school is often very different to at home. Then you do a lot of reading about how neurodiverse chn mask at school. Then you support referral
