A child in my year 5 placement told me that he had never received a birthday card before (he was a looked after child) so I have made sure to write birthday cards to every child I teach. Do them all now and it takes very little effort during the year but it could mean so much 🎂

Run don’t walk to Tesco my friends because they’re back!! These zebra pens are amazing, you get 15 that all have black ink and then 15 highlighters. You get a little stand to put them in too. I’ve used them all this year! £12.50 with a club card 🥰✏️

Theatre, alone? Do it. If you’re worried about going alone, please don’t be. People are far too busy to be likely to even notice you’re there alone and if they do, so what? You can get amazing deals going alone. Take a book with you & take yourself out on a fancy outing. Enjoy 💛

I regularly think about a family I saw in Waterstones about 6 years ago who all chose a book each and then sat on the floor in a circle to vote on their next family read. In the end they decided to buy all five books. I hope they’re doing well.

Shocking revelation in my class today that I do in fact have a mum and dad and crazily, they have the same surname as me. Even more wild, they did not call me “Miss S” as a baby, and called me by my first name. This was all my class could talk about this afternoon. 😂😂😂

No one believes me when I say BSL helps times tables but seriously, I had 3 children in an intervention with me trying to pass their 4x tables tests. They were consistently scoring around 20/40. I showed them how to sign it and two days later they all scored 40/40 in their tests.

My class now know over 200 BSL signs and it has transformed communication in my classroom. They can have full conversations with eachother and me and they’re independently using number signs using carpet sessions in maths and great for non vbl communication too. Amazing.
