hahahahaha. the zig fans are so stupid. they seem to forget that the reason Linux is adopting rust is because rust is the only memory-safe language you can write kernel code in
bear with me: if linus didn't want to use c++, he won't want to use an unsafe toy language

@MarioPrime
No
LAION is a common dataset for training image models in general. It gathered a bunch of images from the internet, but even with filtering there was plenty of horrible stuff that slipped through - and it's way too large to be manually filtered.
Reminder that elf ear surgery exists btw
I would strongly advocate against this for most people, but my followers are disproportionately high-agency so I think it is okay for them
Describing Eleuther as "an AI company" is really disingenuous.
They're a non-profit grassroots co-op, but of course that would sound too good to your audience.
Very sad to have to say this - an AI company called EleutherAI stole tens of thousands of YouTube videos - including many of mine. I’m one of the creators Proof News spoke to. The stolen data was sold to Apple, Nvidia, and other companies to build AI
It's cool how if you discover something you can just name it whatever
Like that one guy named a very important protein after Sonic the Hedgehog and now that's just what it is

Maybe sometimes, but that's not all that's going on here
Game jams are a totally different context from overworking. The reason why people do it is because it's fun, and for the sake of competition. This is different from writing code because you have to.
@psyclyx
They've gone back and forth on it a few times. There's like a war between people saying that it's a real photo of common autistic behavior from an autistic child, and people saying that it's stereotyping and/or ignores adult autism and women
I think an underrated risk of trans rights being threatened in the US is that it sets a precedent
I think a lot of countries have positions that are mostly just variance on top of the US' or an EU-subset's positions. Shifting the US' position would result in shifting here too

A few do. New Zealand doesn't allow autistics, and Canada also used to not. Can't think of any others.
There can also be requirements for things like employability where autism might be factored in by your application reviewer but is not an explicit legal policy

No like they wouldn't do other issues which I was already on medication for (I was moving states, so looking for a new psychiatrist)
@endless_sine
Eh
It's not like the Wirth languages or Scheme, but it's simple compared to competitors like Rust or C++, in that you implementing a mostly usable C compiler is an actual viable hobby project vs much more work needed for C++ or Rust

So far my experience with church-associated coffee shops has been good, while my primary concern about them is that they may not be trans friendly.
I want to submit to SIGBOVIK, but my first idea was to create a "Will I pass" classifier for eggs using data from Reddit transition timeline posts, but I worry that may be rejected for data ethics reasons
@edolg9
I actually suspect that they're running into one of those weird BIOS/UEFI config issues for USB booting and would've had the same issue with 9front or Linux though
Someone needs to make a functional house-polycule-thing for smart autistic tgirls who do research
If you're e/acc, this is the fastest way to acc, it'd be an instant speedup to technology
While I'm fundamentally in favor of people being able to do what they want with their bodies, including HRT, it annoys me that there is no commonly accepted terminology distinction between gender-related biohacking and classical transsexualism
Part of the reason I oppose the medicalization of transness is how it makes people believe their gender is somehow beyond their control - that transness is a "condition" and HRT a "treatment." In reality, there is nothing to being trans beyond desire, and HRT is merely a tool.
How do I establish a habit of cooking/eating, addressing my:
- depression (hard to do anything)
- autism (lose track of time constantly, refuse to repeat meals per day, will freak out if my schedule is broken)
- ADHD meds (no appetite, repulsed by food)
- quasi-ED brainworms
@microsoft_worm
Something to note here is that mere disagreement+annoyance doesn't explain his behavior.
He also has to be, at least one of:
1. Dumb
2. Engagement baiting
3. A propagandist
Otherwise, he would have to give an actual argument, rather than statements which implicitly assume all
@mycoliza
Possums are in an odd position here - while it is true that alone they are not exciting, they become much more exciting as the level of chasing increases
@CWC_Rosechu
I'd argue that the level of user transphobia is worse on 4chan, but the *moderation* is worse here
4chan's moderation is neutral - you can be bigoted to anyone as long as you aren't too annoying about it
On the other hand, Twitter's moderation is actively anti-trans
