It was a pleasant surprise to find that a Mainstream Punjabi Singer has "used" Haryanvi in her Song. Prior to this, the only thing which originated South of Ghaggar received from them was "Pure Disdain". One more step in the "Normalization of Haryanvi". चंडीगढ़ का छोकरा 😄

From my Delhi University Days (2011-17) till now, I have noticed that Jats & Gujars are the 2 key forces in DUSU Elections. Gujars from South Delhi/Noida & Jats from Delhi Dehat tend to favour ABVP. Jats from Haryana favour NSUI. It can be seen even in candidate nomination.

This is called "Karewa" (लत्ता उढ़ाणा) in Haryana and is quite normal & socially acceptable. This is not specifically mentioned under Hindu Law, but is allowed as the Customs of Haryana and Punjab overule HMA 1956. मक़सद: घर की ज़मीन और लुगाई, घराँ ऐ रहणी चाहिए।

Quite rare to see a Sikh proudly saying that his mother tounge is "Haryanvi". The Maa Boli he is talking about is Puadhi/Ambalvi. "मेरी दादी ने कदे इक वाक्य भी पंजाबी दा नहीं बोल्या" Punjabis decry Puadhi speakers, but dont want to consider it a dialect of Haryanvi as well.

Its called Rangri (रांघड़ी) as it is spoken by Ranghad Rajputs. However, Telis, Khatiqs, Lohars, Nai and other Muslim castes also speak it. But, due to Ranghads being landowners and thus being politically and socially powerful, the language is named after them.
