We need to stop treating homosexuality as a state and instead view it as an action (e.g committing sodomy). Otherwise, lay-Muslims will not grasp this idea and those struggling with these inclinations will continue making it part of their identity, making it harder to change.

@aukonas If by homosexual it means someone who just has an attraction but acknowledges the action to be forbidden and stays away from it then yes. But if it is someone who denies that it's forbidden or tries to justify doing it then no. Committing it while denying it's haram is disbelief

The biggest problem with church tradition is that we don’t know their sources. It’s literally just “trust me bro” but on a higher scale. At the very least if there is an issue with a specific Islamic tradition we can trace the errors within the chains and move on. They cannot.

The Qur’an assumes corruption of the prophetic stories by altering their contents, hence “al-Furqan”. If it truly did not see the previous scriptures as corrupted it would have repeated the stories rather than retell them with key elements altered. Missionaries need to catch up.

The Qur’an confirms the Prophet PBUH is unlearned (29:48) and even if one believes he could read and write they would still have to explain how he got the vast intertextual knowledge from or accuse him of lying. This often gets ignored by those who delve into the topic.
