@PotluckLauren Honestly such a pet peeve of mine is being expected to shake hands. Especially now as I have a baby in my arms constantly. I end up having to contort to shake a hand to not be rude but I’m on the verge of just being awkward and ignoring it.

I’m 4 weeks postpartum so definitely not fully back at it… but I’m having such a hard time getting back into dinners. Like, I love cooking and I feel good enough to do it, but I can’t think far enough in advance to actually plan and execute dinner regularly. It’s making me crazy

Just (re)discovered this really fun life hack which is that you can make 2 loaves of bread (or more, I’m not your mom) at once and then bake them and slice and freeze whatever you won’t eat in the next couple of days so that you don’t have to make bread as frequently.

I just bought 3 turkeys and a ham because they were priced amazingly. Now to roast and bag them into smaller portions for the freezer! I love stocking up on cheap, delicious protein for my family 😊

@littlebillie After I gave birth my midwife was like “what do you want to do with your placenta? Pills? Tincture? Plant it?” And I was like 😬 trash? So then she put it in the freezer “just in case” 😂 it was in the garbage as soon as she left.

My favorite thing about all this drama is how many assumptions people are making based off of 1 grocery trip. My grocery trips are so unbalanced. The last one had chocolate chips (2 types), juice, frozen corn, and poptarts. But the trip before that was exclusively meat.

@harmonizedgrace This is so real. My husband and I are extreme homebodies and going *out* on dates is not our idea of fun. But some of our sweetest connecting time as new parents has been in the evening after the children go to bed just hanging out on the couch and laughing about the day together

@milagracesmom That doesn’t sound right.. have you double checked the height and weight maximums of the seat? Maybe you can adjust the straps/take out newborn inserts? I don’t think we switched my son till closer to 11 months. And he’s a little taller than average.

Forget about the “terrible twos” I feel like my son is in his “tornado twos.” It takes him maybe 10 seconds to make a giant mess in every room he enters. It’s like he has a gift for finding things to scatter throughout the room as quickly as possible 😂

@PetiteNicoco Yes!!! It’s terrible for their speech development. They need to be able to see how mouths move so they can learn to form words. And it affects their social skills bc they can’t see peoples’ facial reactions. Just a mess all around.

Last fall I made this a lot. Sometimes with sweet potatoes, sometimes with butternut squash. Tonight I made it with honeynut squash! I’m excited to try it 😋 I always make it extra unhealthy and add a crumble topping and extra honey when serving 😂

Holding my sweet baby in my arms and contemplating how fleeting life is. My grandpa passed away today and it’s wild to think that decades ago his mom held him in her arms as a baby, just like I’m doing with my son. And then a couple decades later he held my mom. Life is a vapor.

@mtnhousewife I pay $99/year for unlimited grocery delivery. We are a 1 car family and going to the store when I have access to the car is hard with bedtime + family time. All of my groceries delivered except for produce. I go to a smaller market for that and it is walking distance.

@fiercelyfeminin This is the same as “are you sure you’re ready to have children?” There will always be ways in which we can be more “ready” sure it would be nice to have zero debt and the perfect home and everything set up for success, but God doesn’t call us to wait till everything is perfect.

Son is on an only carbs kick so I tricked him into protein for his lunch by making him an “egg rice pancake” rice (made with bone broth) mixed up with eggs and shredded cheese and then fried in butter till golden on both sides. So yummy!
