“Alpha” vs. “Beta” sets up a zero-sum hierarchy of winners vs. losers that has almost no relationship to the way human male hierarchies actually work. Human male status hierarchies are complex, flexible, and situational.

There's a difference between being a good man, and being good at being a man. The ideal is to be both, but what makes a man "good" is going to vary from group to group -- so it creates a lot of confusion. Being good at being a man -- masculinity -- is universal.

“Hyper-masculine” is always a control word, because it makes a value judgement. It means “too” masculine or “excessively” masculine. Too masculine for who? Who is establishing what is acceptably or normally masculine? Probably not someone you’d trust with that.

Sheepdog is a terrible metaphor for men who see themselves as "protectors" or "guardians." A sheepdog is the farmer's pet, and his job is to keep the sheep safe until it is time for them to be fleeced or slaughtered.

Drag queens are ugly-to-low mid gay dudes who dress up like women to get attention they couldn’t get otherwise. If you see them as bitter, jealous trolls who hate everything normal and beautiful and mock normal people get a reaction, their actions makes more sense.
