Kansas passed a bill that allows homeschooled kids to participate in their local schools electives and sports programs with no requirements of attendance hours.
Big win
Everyone complaining about solar panels.
2000+ acres of grass going to hunting. No cattle. All the bottoms getting planted to food plots….
Virtually no money will be brought in locally
Had a long time landlord pass away this week. 2nd one this year. Really puts the future up in the air.
This landlord did a lot for me. He gave a 19 y old kid with a junk combine a chance to harvest his crops in my second year doing so.

Are we living the modern dust bowl? 32 inches of rain below normal in past two to three years

College is pretty well expected based on class structure.
I’d allow some on the high school level for certain projects. Zero reason for any before that

Just consumerism….they want to consume and they post about all they consumed on instagram so they can brag about it to their peers who then have to one up the consuming

I think peoples definition of “alpha” when it comes to marriage needs to curve back to reality a bit.
A guy who provides a stable marriage, and a good home life while popping out kids, IS the alpha…..
Farmers running millions in equipment with hundreds of thousands of government monies in their pocket playing Oliver Anthony’s song to their drone videos is pretty amusing….
How many small towns today are simply dying because everyone is waiting for the government to fix everything?
This isn’t a lefty righty problem.
It’s everywhere.
@Empty_America
Rural America, especially farming ones have been telling their kids this for 2 generations.
I have a neighbor that wouldn’t even let their kid come back. They payed for his education and now he makes meager wages slaving away, like it’s somehow better then farming
@wanyeburkett
Yup. It’s easy to tell when we have given our kids to much screen time. They start whining or getting attitude problems about being told to get off or they can’t have it.

@dysangelistes
How can you inspire yourself when you’re trapped for 8 hours a day with no ability to go anywhere else?
It’s a death trap. Literally
@SaysSimulation
I live in a rural area. Under 4000 in the county. Virtually everyone that is here is having kids. Very few that are single over 30. If single maybe divorced but most have kids.
Social economic status means zero. EVERYONE has kids if they can.
Ivf/adoption for a lot that can’t
@Inv3ntive15
There is something happening in densely populated areas that just can’t be described.
I don’t even mean 100s of thousands of people. Even just thousands.
Their viewpoints on life become so skewed from reality it’s scary

@EzraFBridgers
One of the most straight forward answers there is.
I have yet to meet a homeschooler who isn’t more advanced for their age. They can communicate with all ages, they handle adversity better and are better problem solvers. They are more individualistic and don’t rely on others

Then when finished he asked “your coming back next year aren’t you” My first consistent customer. I harvested his crops for several years until he decided to hang it up. Then he asked me to farm his ground. It was a huge step for us. One of our biggest farms at the time.
@silagechopper
I’m selling ground and may cut back rented acres this fall. Sign goes up this week.
Can’t wait for all the rumors to start floating around.
I’m only 33, but I’ve been farming since I was 18, all the way through college. Now my dad is 75, no hired hands and I’ve got 4 kids. Tired
@PlsntVlyFarmer
Ya, people don’t get this. Grasses are meant to grazed. Simple as that. It’s why crp is such a failure of a program. And the bureau of land management
I spent about an hour with him a couple weeks ago wouldn’t have known at the time it would be the last. Sucks
I’m already not a fan of dealing with the next generation. They are so apathetic towards the land and what their parents accomplished.
I’m honestly so tired of dogs. On the way to the park today we passed a yard with two large dogs barking insanely at us on the other side of a broken, nearly toppled fence (that they’d no doubt already half-destroyed themselves). Then we get to the park and some lady is holding a
Just paid my property taxes on my house. Yes, the one I paid tax on when I bought it 30 years ago. My house is paid for, but I still have to pay taxes on it every year and if I don't, they will take it from me. Do you get it? It's never really yours.
Even just a few years ago if you’d told me I could multiplayer farming simulator with my 3 year old son. I’d have chuckled and shrugged it off….
But here I am cussing him out because he’s not in the right spot with the grain cart….
@TornadoNate
Big companies LOVE regulation. If it takes an extra 2 years and millions to do, they don’t care. It further reduces the amount of competition that is able to proceed….
@Empty_America
I assume most people think that option A would result in less deaths.
And since a lot of people now have a sense of superior duty to humankind as a whole they would feel this to be correct decision.
Word of advice….if you build a house or install an instant water heater. DO NOT put it on an interior wall. It will rattle your whole house. Working on moving it to the concrete outer wall today.

We just had a sealed bid rent auction. Winning bidder is double going rate. I couldn’t even fathom it.
What’s worse is when all the absentee landowners hear what the bid was….

Virtually every higher education profession around here is becoming dominated by women. To the point you wonder where the heck the men are….
Veterinarian, doctors, salespeople, boards, research and extension….

Problem with laptops and phones is the tech has evolved so fast. You can buy a car and drive for a decade and it’s just fine.
A decade old computer is almost worthless in its computing power compared to new software.
A quick Google search tells me that KC hard red winter wheat was $4.32 a bushel in 1980....... The US inflation calculator tells me that that same bushel of wheat today should be $16.47 a bushel...... What are we doing....this is stupid.
@Empty_America
Most small towns around here have now allowed Utvs on the streets. There are clubs that go cruising backroads all in their 30k side by sides. People that can’t paint their house have one.
