My cancer diagnosis has been pretty devastating and the costs have climbed so quickly. I am unable to work full time during treatment, and money was already very tight before. I have set up Amazon lists, a direct link and a fundraiser. Any help at all is so appreciated!

@VCR_WOLFE As someone who is TERRIFIED of German shepherds, can confirm, exposure therapy should be a thing. My fear is significantly less than it was years ago cos I’ve forced myself to work on it. Im still never gonna be able to groom one but I can at least touch them w/out panicking 😭

@BorealBones Head scritches only! However it is important to desensitize them to picking up their wings and handling them in ways that would be done at a vet. That way when they do go to the vet they aren't experiencing the additional stress of strange handling. It's a tight line!

Surgery was (as far as I know right now) a success! Only feeling some minor pain and staying overnight just to make sure everything goes well. Thank you for all the messages of support, I started crying reading them. You are all so sweet and kind 💕

@BorealBones All this being said, tiels in general are chronic masturbation machines. We have to take away any new spot in the cage that becomes the Sexy Thing on an almost monthly basis. And spring is generally really rough on birds too! Tl;dr birds are hella complicated

Now that I’m feeling a bit better from catching Covid at MFF, I do have some strong personal feelings on it … I was diagnosed w cancer in June’22 and have avoided being even so much as SICK once in that time. Ive taken masking seriously as Covid has the potential to kill me.

@YourGaynezz My vet didn’t even ASK she just TOLD ME that she’s “removing the dewclaws” at my dogs spay. I said “uh no” and she argued with me. I’m not bringing her to that vet for her spay cos I’m not gonna trust she won’t take em off regardless. There’s no need, they’re well attached ugh

@awarminghearth I lived in an apartment where the kids ran free all day and once they came up as I was leaving and said "we love your harry potter poster!" The only way to see the poster from outside was shoving your face against the windows - which they did. A lot. 😭

My third chemo was a trip, I think they threw some serious truth serum in there because I was a total chatterbox! During Taxotere I had to wear these cold mits and boots because the taxotere is damaging the nerves in my feet and I couldn't stop laughing 😂

My oncologist says this IS curable, and despite how grim it looks there is a moderately decent chance to beat this cancer. It's going to be a long year and a half of chemo, surgery, and after treatments. I hope to keep working some days but will not be able to do full time 😭

My biggest convention tip for everyone: Pack (most of) your things up the night before hotel checkout! This goes for normal hotel stays as well, but the amount of relief you'll feel in the morning is worth it I promise

@mightbekaren Isopods are excellent at cleaning up waste, including metals and other toxins in the environment. The blue is caused by a virus so sadly it means they're sick BUT its a fascinating phenomenon! Ive never seen one in real life before!

Big sad tonight, overwhelmed by the costs of my treatments. The initial $6k has gone up to $45k really fast and so many of the bills are due this month. Being ill in America is so suffocating, it’s hard to be positive sometimes. If you can, please share a cute pic you drew? 💕

I’m very bitter that I spent 17 months fighting cancer, only to come out on the other end done with active treatment and hit in the face with Covid by a community that I genuinely enjoy. I masked, I kept out of party rooms, I did everything right, but got Covid anyway.

Sadly the bid for this suit was a fake one. I could really use the funds, my furnace repair AND my blown plumbing is going to be about 1.7k to fix 😭😭😭

@Mossworm1 That entire drive looks so stuttery and jolty and awful, the car repeatedly tries to drive into the parked cars, drives full speed thru a stoplight on a downhill, over-shoots the turn and almost hits another car - these men need their license removed and Tesla needs stopping
