Why can't Andrew Lloyd Webber lobby the govt to help smaller theatres through the coming months instead of his own big expensive fairytale? Or set up a fund himself, he's got the cash. The West End doesn't exist without the fringe, really sad that he doesn't seem to care

It was very cathartic to speak to @shanti_das for this piece. I was hesitant because I’m scared my landlord will see it and I’m now trying to stay in the house and swallow some of the increase rather than uproot my entire life -

Vicky’s @royalcourt was the first place in London that felt like home to me. My first Intro group session was the day after I moved here knowing no-one. Then a longer group a few years later, and all the while, my box office job which kept me in this city + writing for six years

The day rate for a new play commission is absolutely less than £100 a day when you break down the hundreds of hours spent across many drafts over a series of years (a lil thread)

Everyone is very mad about £100 day rates on the Theatre Peckham advert, but pls I beg you stop pretending that this isn’t the rate that so many jobs in this industry are advertised for in quieter less public ways!!! And those orgs get no flack 🙃

This day last year @Tusenbach rang me to tell me Porcelain was going on. I was in Notting Hill and I wandered round the streets in a happy blur and then sat in a Cafe Nero and texted and called everyone I've ever known. Every time I pass that Cafe Nero I smile.

Guys we all need books in this time: consider getting them delivered from your local bookshop instead of Amazon. A bit more expensive but think of the money you're saving by not getting the tube. We need to help keep their doors open so that they're still standing when we emerge!
