I am a gyn oncologist, Fellowship Director, and Director of Minimal Access and Robotic Surgery at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. Tweets are my own.
We really need to rethink this immediate availability of results in patient portals especially in oncology! Just had horrible experience with a terrified patient who saw results before I had chance to call her. All or none is horrible for any aspect of medical care
First baby born in the US today after uterine transposition! Am beyond words. God bless the brave women who have trusted us! It is a privilege to work with such amazing women!
First robotic uterine transposition done today in courageous young woman with rectal cancer who will get pelvic RT. We hope this will give her chance to have children. Thank you

Another uterine transposition placed back in a brave young woman. Humbling how brave our patients are and how much trust they put in us. Prayers for a big family for her. Fortunate to be able to do this with my partner

Was great privilege and honor to have served on the Board for these past 3 years! All should consider volunteering to this wonderful society!
@IGCSociety
When asked if the CDC will revise its guidance to mandate masks in schools in light of the Cochrane review showing masks do not curb COVID, CDC Director Walensky tells Congress its advice on child masking will never change. “Our masking guidance doesn’t really change with time.”
Got such amazing news yesterday! One of wonderful women who was treated for rectal cancer who let us do uterine transposition is 10 weeks pregnant spontaneously!
HRT is so needlessly underutilized in many of our young women with GYN malignancies for unsubstantiated “concerns”! And we likely remove ovaries in way too many women for the same “unsubstantiated concerns”
@NBSaphierMD
The masks at school thing is so crazy. Example last night had daughter Vball game. None of the players using masks and huffing and puffing from running around yet the AD was a nazi with the few kids sitting in stands to mask up and then they all were together maskless outside!
Greatest privilege of my career to be a part
@of
the education of future of GYN ONC!! I love ‘em all in this pic and the many more who aren’t in pic tonight!
We have the only long standing and continuous International GYN ONC Fellowship in the US! It is the best thing ever! Dr. Sarah Ehmann graduating and going to Germany. Dr. Yeoshoua will go to Israel!
need to ask that reviewers stop asking for power analyses in retrospective cohort series. It is nonsensical as retrospective analyses are merely hypothesis generating and there is nothing to be done about power. Can provide references. Folks really don’t understand “power”!
This is not good science. The confounding bias is enormous! People were essentially non-existent in NYC by time face mask use “started” mans everything was already closed down. Not proof of anything
This new study confirms we have to make face mask-wearing the norm-> 99% compliance. As I + co-authors wrote, need to make mask-wearing easy and expected.
Part of that takes leadership that walks the walk and listens to the science.
Last Fellows Program Dinner with our 4 amazing graduating fellows! Drs. Kimberly Dessources, Sarah Ehmann, Lea Moukarzel and Sarah Kim!! Will miss you tremendously! So proud of you. You will do amazing things for women with cancer!!

What an epic day yesterday! Grand rounds with Dr. Jalid Sehouli and site visitors
@NicoloBizzarri
and Ignacio Zapardiel and Valentina Gerardi. Fingers crossed we get accepted as first ESGO accredited fellowship in US!!
Cheapest way is to simply open RP space and find ureter. Takes 30sec per side to do this. Near impossible to injure something u can see. Cystoscopy use should be selective never routine.

Am sitting here and thinking about how precious and beautiful this Short time we have is so short! Please be kind and respectful to all no matter color, race, gender, gender preference, ethnicity, etc! We are all humans trying to enjoy our short existence.
Thinking of my mom and dad on this Labor Day weekend who worked hard to give me and my sisters the promise of America as immigrants! Dad lifelong member of the Heavy and General Laborers Union Local 462 out of Newark!! Mom a Teamster!
Am at SGO Fellowship Director meeting and am so proud to see 5 of our prior fellows as Program directors at big programs!! Success is measured by the success of others you have had the privilege to train
We will be interviewing for a position for our International GYN ONC program early this coming year for a start July 2026. We are only program jn US that is ESGO certified. If interested or have great young doctors you mentor then do send applications to surfellowships

Another thing we need to stop: routine TVUS at time of annual gyn exam in an asymptomatic patient. The amount of anxiety created by finding a small “complex” cyst is just too much!
I’m sorry, but we are jumping the gun with some of the molecular results and changing practice- we reported on recurrences 17% in POLE cases!! Clinical outcomes of patients with POLE mutated endometrioid endometrial cancer - PubMed
Tumor fragmentation (manually or by morcellation) in Stage I Uterine Leiomyosarcoma was investigated by
#TeamEndoMSK
. Our data determined fragmentation was associated with a significantly higher risk of recurrence and a nearly 4x increase in peritoneal recurrence vs non-frag.
This is framed on my wall in my office. Great respect for this! Definite landmark study!! Let’s please learn from it and not prematurely end MIS for all cervix cancer cases.
Was simply so amazing to be able to be together last night to celebrate our graduating fellows. Congrats to Dr. Renee Cowan, Dr. Evan Smith, Dr. Charles Ashley, Dr. Dib Sassine and Dr. Thomas Boerner! All superstars! I will miss you!

Never ending - seeing yet again another woman who had a “routine” US with “complex ovary cyst” and totally freaked out. PLEASE STOP with the “let’s check” US! You are doing harm
Another brave young woman allowed us to do our 3rd uterine transposition today! 3rd in US too I believe? Not sure if anyone else out there has done in US.
